Well I have mine mounted. I took out one of the plastic bumper cover holders on each side of the hitch and drilled it out a bit then mounted my lights under the bumper. It was the only place I could see that there was steel there to mount to. They are 8000 lumens each.

Steffen707 here are some pics. I know not flush mounted but I could find anything solid to attach to on the bottom of the recessed area. I ran my wiring through the hitch then through the frame to the front.

Fonzie I like what you have done also. I might have to switch it up.

Here's a picture of the reflector from the back. There's just three small bolts holding it on. It has a hanger on the back that holds some of the wiring.

Backup lights

i don't know how it mounts or if it looks flush, or sticks out like a sore thumb.......
Thanks Steffen, for providing that link. Looks really interesting but I'd like more info and I don't do FB or instagram for ordering products. Hope he does email and phone if no website but so far I don't see it.

i just don't know if $100 bracket plus another $xxx for the pod is worth it. I gotta get under the bumper and see for myself. wondering if a flush mount amazon pod will still give like 70% of the effective reverse lighting, but for less and actually look more finished. I'm thinking having a pod mounted right behind a square hole isn't going to look that finished......who knows.

umm, i'm looking elsewhere i think, want more form over function at this point. Does look like this mount makes the pod face straight rearward whereas a flush mount option may be angled away from pointing straight back.

I was going to ask to see a larger/close-up pic - looks like you did that - thanks!

Now that I can see it, I'm (IMO only) not a fan. It's not nearly clean enough for me to put on my truck.

I'll keep looking at other options

I have searched a lot for the perfect back up light to replace the red reflector...… I'm not sure there is one. I cannot find it. If anybody knows of one speak up and post some info. There are a lot of 4" flush mounted cube lights like the one steffen707 used that appear to be just a little too big.

Then there is the round, ridge industries light that is round and 12 watts. I like the look and fit of that light but not too sure of the brightness.

I did find this light. A couple of different suppliers that have similar lights that are sold on Amazon for a reasonable price. It fits the space pretty good (may need a little trimming) and is 20 watts.

Anybody else have any other solutions for replacing the red reflector with a LED back up light?
