Keep em coming guys. The whole reason I ordered my Gladiator was because we're going to Yellowstone this summer for our 20th anniversary. Want as much feedback on pulling different units with the truck. In my mind I feel under 4500 lbs is acceptable with under 3500 being ideal.

What’s the weight and length of your Starcraft?
What was your MPG towing it?
It’s 23’ long and about 5k pounds. 9-10 mpg average over 1000 miles. Not any better than the 14 GC I used to tow with (Hemi)

I'd say 3500 to 4500 should be A-OK.

June 2022 I drove my Wiilys Eco Diesel to Rice. TX to get my Casita, then to Monument Valley, next was Carson City to see the 13 antique steam locomotives, then to Yellowstone. I then drove to Anchorage an back to Florida. I carried a plethora of items for possible damage events. I picked i got my third windshield in Shelby, MT Huerta a pebble on I-15 created a top to bottom crack. Immediately after installation I filled up with diesel, I loaded 5 gallons of unleaded for my 2.2 KW generator and I crossed the border into Coutts, Aberta. I then encountered a golf ball sized hail storm. Fortunately I pulled over and I sustained only a dinged hood and no windshield damage!
in Anchorage I had carried oil, oil filter, and fuel filter for the required change. On the return through the YukonI had a pebble crack the new windshield. I repaired the 1” crack with the repair kit I carried.
overall I got about 17 mpg on the 14,000 mile drive.

I towed my Casita to Alaska, it was 2600 lbs empty. About 17 mpg overall on the 14,000 drive. I also took it to Northern Virginia. I really liked the casita, the quality was suberb! I had zero problems during all my travels. I didn’t like the wet bath, cramped interior, and the small fridge/freezer. I had added the shock absorber kit and Katy’s closet kit. I towed with an Andersen hitch using Tekonsha P3 brake controller.
I later sold the casita and I purchased a Forest River R-Pod 153. It has a dry bath, 10 cu. Ft. Fridge/freezer, with a built in central vacuum and a Power awning. The quality of construction by the Indiana Amish craftsmen is CRAP! It has taken me 3 months to get everything functioning correctly! The tailer spent almost one month on the dealers lot awaiting parts to install and I waited 2 months for a new outdoor hang-on grill.
I’ve taken it to Texas and Pennsylvania. I get 14.5 mpg. It weights 4059 lbs empty but it is higher and wider than the casita. I’m using the same hitch. I’m heading to Key West to fish this weekend. I’ll have

a waterfront full hookup at the naval station RV park.
I do carry a lot of tools, fuel and oil filters, 9 quarts of oil, and a five gallon can of diesel. I have a locking ARE cap on the bed. Also, I have the following radios: 100 watt HF, 75 watt 2-meter, GMRS, and a CB with weather channels.
