I picked up a set of rims off of a Gladiator (5 for $140) on the used market and am now trying to see what tires to put on them.

Max tire size will be 35”. So I should look for 35x12.5x17 tires?

These tires will be for some light off roading, and snow conditions on mountain roads here in KY. Both will be rather rare occurrences as to do either I have to drive about 4 hours to in-laws place. 99% of the time I would say it is the stock Dueler A/Ts on the road

So, what tires for these new rims? 33” Falken? 35” KO2s?

Adding a poll for fun, tires are the ones available locally

Personally, I'd go with the Load Range C KO2's, so 315/70/17 if you want 35ish tires. They are lighter in weight and unsprung weight matters a lot to me and should for the conditions you describe yourself in.

BFG KO2 Load Range C. In 130,000 miles, we went through 1 set and the second set, still in great shape, are on the JTR now. Lots of wheeling in rocks sand and snow Zero issues. You will Not be dissatisfied with them 35/12.5/17 first set were E rated yuck, this set is C and the ride is smooth with zero other issues. I do have to say, we’re Gertrude of the BFG’s , I’m just tired of looking at them!

I know it’s not on the pill, but I’ve been quite pleased with Duratracs.

Snowflake rated, more aggressive than an A/T but not quite an MT.

otherwise, go with the BFG.
