I'm trying to figure what 30,000 mile tire would be better for the daily commute and the weekend trail.
My JT sees 70 mile daily commutes (if not driving the built TJ Rubicon) each day. After installing the tall 4.5" EVO Enforcer Overland, I will want a tire that will provide the clearance to not back down, but rather, tackle the terrain. I see clearance as a benefit, not a curse. The taller the better, IMO. I wheel out west, so lots of desert and rocky trails.
Characteristics of the Interco TrXus MT include:
Soft, compliant tread (that's been reformulated against chipping)
Over stated size - you get more tire height for your money.
Good sidewalls with sidewall protection.
Siped tread blocks that provide 30,000 miles of service.
Quiet ride the first 20,000 miles.
Characteristics of the Patagonia MT include:
Soft, compliant tread that does not chip.
A 38" size to fill the fenderwells for good clearance.
Sidewall tread that provides traction and protection.
Quiet ride the life of the tire.
I can't think of any 38"x17" tires that I'm missing.. that is for your advice.
