All went well! Mommy is doing great and recovering well. Little baby boy stats:Congrats on the kid! Everything go ok?
Do you by chance have the thread about the steering stabilizer?Funny thing is I wasn't even trying to hit this speed...I was just driving, and going down a slight hill and happened to look down at the speedo. The truck was really solid - not quite like my other car (BMW X5M which can do 97 all day long effortlessly), but still very good. Steering stabilizer helps a lot.
My MPG on the drive, averaging about 75, was 17. Not too bad. Not sure what it was at 97mph though!
I forgot to post that I did the same a couple weeks ago! I got to take my wife home from the hospital this past Wednesday. First kid. Lots of complications. 40+hrs of labor, multiple failed epidurals and spinals, emergency c-section under full anesthesia, surgical infections, kid in NICU for a week, but at a healthy 8lbs 5oz at 37.5 weeksNothing too crazy today, just drove my wife to the hospital in my Gladiator to have our second kiddo.
Since I know you guys are a "pics or it didn't happen" kind of group. No body damage and only a "slightly readjusted" steering stabilizer.
LOL yeah those things took a beating but they were already scarred up from past trips. All aluminum except for the mounts. They were fairly inexpensive and they did exactly what I wanted them to do, save the body. I'll toss them and have the High School welding class make me new set that replicate these from 1" square steel tubing and have them made longer to go all the way to the rear fender flare. Windrock Park trail #16 is no joke. The majority of it is no big deal, just rough, like driving on bowling balls. Those two or three hill climbs with the rock ledges on the other hand, bring the winch, you'll need it. The JT is just too long. I have 35s and 2.5" in the front and .75" in the rear. This sure looks like step bar damage to me. Ouch!!!!
If it's a girl will her name be Gladys ?Nothing too crazy today, just drove my wife to the hospital in my Gladiator to have our second kiddo.
Wow . . . I screwed up . . . I new you had a Gobi yet looking at the photo all I could see was Gator . . . go figure ! And so my rambling became all about Gator, sorry . So, same question could also apply to your Gobi in various lighting conditions and the color hue changes IT makes ! ? Look forward to the next trip . ps; I saw another Video on the full Trans America overland experience (can't recall who ?) in 2018 ? The "adventure" part on the East end was not so Picturesque and kind of boring to watch ! But I know you'll do plenty of homework and make good decisions ! Stay well & happy holidays .I think the gator is not quite green enough for my taste. But if the Gobi I have hadn't been available, I'd have held out for gator and been quite satisfied.
Trips in the queue include Big Bend (been there several times, but videos are old and dated and I'd like to refresh them with better quality), Death Valley (more exploring surrounding area, I hope, since I've been there three times now and have two recent video series), and Colorado Backcountry Discovery Route. Also hope to finish up the eastern part of the Trans America Trail--but it may be divided into two parts. Ray has been super busy with moving and building a new home, so it's taking a little coaxing to get him to come out and play. ;-) Regardless, if all goes well you should see something new in the late January time frame. And maybe a little earlier if I can coax Ray out.
Looks great. Congrats. Was a long wait, glad to see ya finally have it.Took delivery and drove it home from Tri-City Jeep in Eden, NC.
Got home and immediate changed out the wheels/tires with a set of LE wheels and 35-inch Falken Wildpeak A/T3 tires - Thanks to @DMC1 - part of the best Jeep Pit Crew ever! Got a few extras done like installed the roll up tonneau, 9-inch antenna and slush mats.
Best Jeep ever - Welcome Samson to the family!
This is what I got - adjustable, so I can dial up or down the resistance.Do you by chance have the thread about the steering stabilizer?
Congrats! I did the same thing on the 13th of Nov. Our second, too! The wife preferred my Jeep to her Escape SUV. WIN.Nothing too crazy today, just drove my wife to the hospital in my Gladiator to have our second kiddo.
What was the damage that resulted in the steering stabilizer needing readjustment?Since I know you guys are a "pics or it didn't happen" kind of group. No body damage and only a "slightly readjusted" steering stabilizer.
It didn't NEED readjustment. It GOT readjusted. It's bent and leaking. You can see it in the last pic. What was the damage that resulted in the steering stabilizer needing readjustment?
