The wheels I can order only come in 17x8 or 17x9 - which one should I get? Isn't the ideal size 17x8.5?

I have to admit I don't know much about wheel besides the diameter sizes...

Need some more info.
What size tire are you gonna run.
Intended use (street more / off-road less or?)
Offset of each option?

They are the Smoothie 51 series stockton wheels but I don't have any offset information. I plan to run the 35" KM3 tires, and use it for overlanding and some offroading trails but no rock climbing stuff...

More than rim width you need to decide what stance you want. The 8 or 9 isn't gonna matter at all. BUT the offset between those two is massive. The 8in wide is gonna poke that tire out from the fender quite a bit.
The 9in will have the tire almost flush with the edge of the fender.

Personally I'd go with the 9. The offset keeps the tire in the fender and all the crap that would be spraying all over the truck with the wider stance is lessened. For an overland rig in covered rubber means lots of mud, dirt and rocks thrown on paint.

Here is my 37s with 5.2 back

spacing.
I wish mine were about an inch closer to the body.

Sweet, thanks guys. I'll order 17x9 then.
17x9 is by far the most popular option that we sell. I would strongly recommend this as did everyone else in this forum.
Let us know if you need any help getting some wheels, especially Black Rhino Hard Alloys
