Does it simply unscrew to allow for replacement with a different knob?

My filthy Mojave after 2 months overlanding. The transfer case shifter went through a process to install. I installed the B&M short shifter for the manual transmission and was able to aquire just the knob for the transfer case. B&M tries to sell some stupid looking goofy dog leg extension for the tc. I purchased the Speed Dawg adapter. The adapter has huge threads for usage on Speed Dawg knobs only. I chucked it in my lathe and cut it down to have about 2 threads then center drilled and taped it to the B&M knob threads, used a short stud to mate them. You could use a hack saw and hand drill and accomplish it. Works great and doesn't have that goofy hog leg crap.

I left just a couple threads to use the Speed Dawg lock nut. I posted this pic before, I think it was in a manual transmission thread. The knobs have the correct pattern on then. I'm happy with the results.
