I know that we can fit a 37 inch spare in the stock location on the gladiator. I am wondering if anyone has been playing with software and determined if a 37 inch spare will fit in the same location on a diesel given the extra exhaust crap we will be getting placed under there...I thought it may be an interesting discussion to have while we wait.
I really want to go with 40's but where to put the spare is an issue

ive seen some concepts that put the spare on a rack in the bed. Would certainly solve the issue of 40’s.

personally i think it drives like a slug in the mud with anything over 315. Maybe the diesel will be different with more torque.

when you do the math a diesel on 40's still puts down more torque at 75mph than a v6 on 35's and 4.88 gears.
stock jeep is 77.2:1 torque multiplication, diesel wrangler is 70.1 because they come with lower gearing.
now the diesel creates 442 ft lbs at 2000rpm multiplied by 70 to get 30,940 lb ft of thrust.
the v6 creates about 180 ft lbs at 2000rpm multiplied by 77.2 to get 13,896 lb ft of thrust.
diesel will be no slug.

Maybe a 37” tire will fit underneath but certainly not all do
