When do you get back and check out the new gears?? Anxious to hear what you experience!
so I'm back.
Between Doc not being the quickest to start with (but he does do good work), and then he's been with his wife in the hospital, I hope to get it back and report tomorrow.
I wouldn't have had time to drive it before tomorrow anyways.

Before left, I tuned it for 4.88 from 4.10.
VERY IMPORTANT TAZER TIP: When you press the damn button 78 times to go from 4.10 to 4.88, PRESS THE DAMN ENTER before you go thru the whole damn reboot TWICE! uggh.
I felt so stupid... :CWL:

k, so first of all,
WHOOHOO!!!

Sooo, Did you know that the 8 speed auto ACTUALLY has 8 forward gears?
Super-Duper Gladiator can now cruise in 8th!
70mph=2100 RPMs!

I only put about 50 miles on it as I needed to short drive it, let is settle then drive/settle.
but I've now had enough of that.

POWER on takeoff? check.
8th on highway? check
Happy JP? check.

A little whine in rear but already going away.

so, II now have just over 150 miles on the 4.88s.
The Super-Duper Gladiator is happy.
Cruises just fine in 8th.
2100ish at 70
2250ish at 75
2400ish at 80
I still have a little whine at 35-45, but seems to be clearing (or I'm just less sensitive to it). not bad, just noticed.
Performs just like it would be on 33s.

JP is happy!

IF anyone is interested, I pulled the Pulsar out before the gear change, I'll probably be posting it for sale.
I don't need the performance 'kick' it gives anymore, and all my tuning for tires and gears is on my Tazer.

Congrats JP! I just got mine back Monday from the 4x4 shop with 4.56's and am equally happy with how it drives. Don't know if your Doc mentioned this, but my mechanic recommends a 500 mile break-in period followed by replacing the gear fluid with full synthetic. This is supposed to allow the gears to fully harden from multiple heat cycles and then flush any metal flakes/contaminants that are in the initial fluid fill. He told me the factory actually does something similar before installing the axles on the vehicle.

yupyup :like:
At almost exactly 300 miles in right now.
(I don't drive it to work cause if someone was to key it, I'd be forced to find their house and burn it to the ground).
Kinda planning on getting it to the 500 this weekend and dropping off Monday for the flush and Synergy install..

You don't **** with another man's vehicle. It's just against the rules.
