Make sure you aren't plugged into the truck when you use it. Carplay made my speed match the readout on the truck instead of using GPS when I was trying to test mine and I didn't realize it until I drove past a radar trailer. Unplugged and sure enough the truck was off.

I read you saying this in another thread. I tried it both ways and the reading from both apps was the same. I confirmed it with speed board as well and i was still 1mph off :-/ doesnt matter what tire size i set.

at any rate, not entirely sure plugging in vs unplugged makes a difference. But its a good idea to test

Interesting. I tried two different apps and both showed the truck’s Speedo reading higher than the GPS whether the phone was plugged into CarPlay or not. I drove it by a local radar trailer multiple times and the GPS matched the radar while the truck read 1-2 more MPH than either app.

what tire size did you set the speedometer for versus the tire size you have.

Sounds like maybe some apps have Carplay permissions and others don't. Which app did you end up using? Sounds like a better choice than the one I used.

It is just called “ speedometer “ and had the highest rating. I haven’t begun to explore its options.

Your speedometer likely reads up to 5% faster than your actual speed. It’s very common.
