Definitely not an exhaust leak. Waiting on a really cold day for the nose to return. It's been 70° the last few days

Well the dealer said that my Jeep doesn’t have any issues. Says what’s around the transfer case is normal. Can anyone confirm what their transfer case looks like?

Is that oil or sealant that a worker did a sloppy job of applying?

If it`s oil it`s not normal, these are not old Harley or Triumph motorcycles.

It is apparently a protectant that Jeep puts on it during shipping. Also mentioned that the transfer case wouldn’t leak any kind of black fluid. It’s also worth mentioning that the black stuff from the pic was not wet and I could not wipe it off. So I guess I’ll take their word for it. If it truly ends up being an issue I suppose I can say I took it in before it would of got worse if it actually ends up having an issue.

Got a call from the dealer this afternoon. I dropped it off this morning, after asking them to check the FAD (front axle disconnect actuator). They confirmed it was faulty and will have the part Wednesday.

Again, my symptoms were a loud thrumming noise from the front end, at any speed, that went away when I put it in 4Hi.

No, when I was in 2Hi it would randomly engage/disengage the FAD. This made a very loud thrumming sound. It went away immediately if I shifted into 4Hi.

They had it two weeks. There's a TSB now.
He's the worksheet.
