How many have other jeep projects to tow?
I figured I would post a little about our other Jeep. We have been building this for a while. Father and son project when he is home from college.
The only original Jeep parts left from 1946 is the front grill and the VIN tag. We started with a brand new reproduction body, hood, windshield and tailgate. Then we cut the body in half and started modifying for the stretch. I had the frame bent up to my specs from Throttle Down Kustoms, they did an amazing job and were super fast. Once the body was stretched in the sides and floor we made all new hat channel supports for the entire bottom of the body. When we are finished with all the major fabrication we will pull it back apart to finish welding the subframe in and drilling for the flat belly pan to attach to it.
Stretched 1946 Willys CJ2A - Ultra 4 style buggy
Custom Mandrel Bent Frame - 2" x 4" x 3/16"
Custom Front Winch Bumper - 3/16"
Custom Lower Subframe with flat belly - 3/16"
Body Stretch - 8" in doors, 7" in the hood
Highlined Fenders
Wheelbase - 105" wheelbase - 25" stretch
It will run up to 40" tires with low center of gravity
LS engine, 4L85E Trans, Atlas Race Case, Spidertrax Axles and Fox Coilovers
