I made my own bedrails (another thread) and attached this ammo box to hold my ratchet straps and gloves.
- I used a Harbor Freight box because its lid has a straight overhang. All of the real ammo boxes that I have, have an angled overhang on the lid.
- I riveted on some wire rope to prevent it from opening into the window.
- I put a piece of white polyethylene (painted black) between the box and the rail, so the box can open / close. I am going to replace this with a black piece since nothing sticks to polyethylene.
- I put a magnet under the handle to stop it from rattling.
- I am going to re-paint soon. Not happy with the finish.
- Will be putting a lock on it next week.
