Aux Switch Wires Interior Passenger Side. Heck of a day finding these today. Glad I gave up on the rubber grommet on passenger side. If I get static on CB I will revisit a more direct line to BAT POS. Great Jeep but designers did not leave us many choices through the firewall on passenger side.

Is the passenger side rubber grommet that difficult to reach?

Difficult to get to from inside can or engine bay....but more important then that is the risk of affecting one of the many wires going through. Some other thread talked abou two wires he hit them had to troubleshoot.

I found this thread over on the wrangler forum.

https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/tips-for-running-wire-through-the-firewall.20103/

I have a manual trans, so no hole on driver side to run a power wire through for an amplifier.
Was hoping to use this grommet if it’s the same on the gladiator

I do not think ( 99%) it is sthe same on Gladiator. I was trying to find a spot to drill through and seal myslef onthe floor pan. I avoided the large main gromment behing the dash, up from the passenger floor board just because of what else is in their, You push through one side, then the wires in the middle are not protected , then you have to punch through the other side. Some may have succeeded, but I will keep looking for another route,

I have a custom dash mounted small CB in the small nock lower, center. I have the antenna out the clutch hole. I don't want to run power that far then back over to BAT. I am using hte always hot AUX Switch wire, there are 6. I have not tuned SWR yest but I just need to go find a good location and take a few moments to get it done.

Thank you for posting this! These were very well hidden on my 23 Gladiator. I looked everywhere, and they were staring at me the entire time. Well hidden with a generous amount of black tape. Well played Jeep, well played...

Am I the only one a bit puzzled by the AWG of the 15A wires? It looks like 18AWG which is rated for 3.7A. I’ll be installing two sets of pod lights and plan to use switch 3 but will be checking amp draw to ensure nothing gets too hot.

Has anyone entertained rewiring with 10AWG?

Taking at look at the schematic, the fuses and wiring aren’t bundled into any other wiring bundles and are a discrete system. I’m thinking I could pull the fuses, pull the wiring and replace the 18AWG wiring with 10AWG wiring and the 15A fuses with 40A fuses making all connections the same.

I’ll have to dig into the passenger compartment wiring but I can’t (at the moment) think of anything I’d wire inside the cab. If I come up with something, I’ll revisit the wiring.

Automatic has a very ez plug on the driver side, given how small the rig is I just ran every thing there.

Hopefully your CB will be good, I had to run a dedicated hot and ground form my GMRS, got interference using the aux hot.
