My bestop soft-top for hard-top arrived like 12 days ago but i've been busy with Covid-19 taking over the world stuff, and now its back to like 30 degrees in Middle Wisco. Next week it should be in the 40s-50s in wisconsin so i'll post some photos of that.

I have yet to open it to see if this hole in the box has F-ed anything up.

More importantly- get that label off the box and submit the rebate. Just got confirmation my rebate is being processed!

I'm taking this whole thing Covid-19 thing VERY seriously. If my dad gets sick, he'll likely die. All my clients are in the "at risk" age. I've read even if you're a healthy 30 year old, Covid-19 can F*ck up 20% of your lung capactiy permanently. NO THANKS.

I wear a p100 respirator if I go for supplies, here's my process.

  • Put respirator on
  • slip on "going out insulated crocks from garage" (only used for leaving the house)
  • Put purell bottle in left pocket
  • put just 1 credit card in left pocket, not wallet
  • grab just the keyfob for truck, right pocket
  • get in truck
  • go to store,
  • grab stuff
  • go to checkout and use credit card, only use right pinky if need to sign.
  • go to truck, purell hands, open tailgate, put stuff in truck.
  • purell hands, get into truck
  • drive home
  • exit truck
  • open tailgate, put items into front of garage
  • grab clorox wipes, wipe down tailgate handle, driver door handle, door, steering wheel, dash, shifter, ECT.
  • wipe down handle of one item, lift up wipe down other 5 sides of object, set down in clean spot, wipe down all objects bought in this manner.
  • take out keyfob, credit card, purell bottle and wipe all those down.
  • wipe down garage door knob to house, open door slightly.
  • take off respirator and wipe that down.
  • take off insulated crocks in garage.
  • take off shirt, pants, socks inside out, wad up into ball.
  • push door open with bare foot, put clothes ball directly into washing machine.
  • Yell for wife to open door to bathroom and start the water for shower.
  • Take shower
  • Resume Quarentine at home and if I get sick......don't know what else I could have done other than being a bunker prepper.
Is my process overboard? ABSOLUTELY, by design. I need to shave my beard for more effective seal of respirator, might do that today. I've had a beard for 10 years now.....

Here's me and my respirator.

I pray the contents of that box are all in tact Steffen.
Its weird out there with coronavirus. I was just thinking "Shoot, there's a plant at work that wilts if it doesn't get water daily. That's probably going to die.........." When people are dying.

But I appreciate your prayers @furrymurray , we need to keep happy things going in our lives to not lose our sanity in times like these.

I grabbed my rebate submission paperwork from work when I packed up my office to set it up at home.

I agree 100% about keeping things as normal as possible and keeping things going to hold on to our sanity. I don't think your routine is overboard at all considering what you are trying to accomplish. I knew deep down that you were not a selfish person. By you going through this process to keep clean as possible not just for your benefit but thinking about others and how it could affect them just proves it to me. Even though I am older than you by prolly a decade doesn't mean I can lean an important life lesson from you. I truly wish more people would think as you Steffen and I appreciate the lesson.

but now i have 2 pair of shoes in quarentine, because i forgot to put on the "going out pair". i think in 3-5 days of isolation they should be ready to wear again.......probably shouldn't suck on them, but then again, i've never sucked on a shoe before. Not that I remember anyway.

Agreed. It's a common thing to install, recycle the box, and then be missing the UPC code you need. Be sure to cut that out of the box before you recycle! :like:

Recently my posts havn't been about Gladys or Jeeping, but just life in general. I've got some mods coming down the pipeline still.

Hope ya'll are staying healthy. I got to spend some time burning branches from two trees i cut down this winter, drank a few Coors latte's and listened to the radio. I've got a 3" hole in the bottom side of the burn barrel and if I put my milwaukee leaf blower on the least setting it makes it a super incinierator. one 9amp battery lasted all night.

Fun activity for kids. the two jars on the sides were half filled with water and just a paper towel draped into a 3rd. Took a few days but they've leveled out now. This is a good concept to show homeowners about ice damns and how water can migrate.

Ever hear of antifreeze traveling through a cars wiring harness? http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=229353

This is why you don't wrap cords tightly around appliances. After 20 years of use this craftsman battery charger cord finally had it.

Popped it open, cut out the bad area, wire nuts with tape, 20 minutes later we're ready for another 20 years. Or until I get a more modern, smart charger. lol.

Its been a while, finally got my Alu-Cab! I'll be doing a full review of it one of these days. For now, my space man likes the rig!

The perfect Covid rig!

Here in Virginia it is actually illegal to wear a mask in public. It goes all the way back to the KKK days. Our illustrious governor recently said that the state would not arrest anyone for wearing a mask in public...He’s not the sharpest knife in the drawer...
