MORAL OF THE STORY
If you dont want your mpg's to drop as much go with 35's but if you do go wheeling quite a bit and need that extra ground clearance from your diff go with a light 37" like a bfg k02 wich are 69 or 70 pounds, but if your all about the look/you know you want the performance off road and dont care about mpg's just go with an aggressive mt 37" tire

IMO 315/70R17 is the perfect combo. Jeep recommends additional equipment when installing 37’s. If you’re not wheeling weekly and it’s your daily driver I’d stick with 35’s. 37’s unequivocally put a great strain on the drive tran components. Premature wear is a matter of when not if. 37’s also require more upkeep. 0.02

For reference:

BFG KO2 315/70R17: actual diameter is 34.4 @ 64.5lbs each

BFG KO2 35x12.50R17: actual diameter is 34.5 @ 66.3lbs each

BFG KO2 37x12.50R17: actual diameter is 36.5 @ 69.5lbs each

I did the 315/70R17 option. It looks great without a lift or changing the engineered geometry of the drive tran. No bro dozer look. It’s only .1 smaller than a 35x12.50R17 and weighs a little less. Maybe I’m cautious but I daily drive and do moderate wheeling. I will get everywhere anyone else is running on a trail. Driver input is everything. 37’s are out of the question for me, not worth the extra wear and tear or $$. Full disclosure, I may have opened a controversial can of worms.

Doing a little research on the same ... Thanks and I agree on the tire size , maybe and old man thing . The BFG's look great too

I went with 37” Cooper STT pros and the 3.5” rough country lift. I debated heavily between 35s and 37s. I’m very happy with the results.

37" looks so much better imo. I'm wondering if I can do those on my overland with 3.73 gear ratio and not push it off road while planning to upgrade the axles later.

Any thoughts?

It will be interesting to see how the Falken M/T holds up. I wouldn't expect 60k out of them.
not to necro a thread but after 15k miles on my 255/75/17s (and weekly drives to off road on forest road trails with a healthy supply of rocks sticking out of mud patches) I can say I have lost 2-3/32nds of tread. Stock is 18/32, I am at 16/32

Anyone know for sure whether or not 37’s will hit the inner fender with the sway bar disconnected (rubicon fenders) At full lock? I’ve contemplated going from 35’s to 37’s but I don’t want to gut my fenders to do it.

Probably depend on wheel backspace and tire width. Plenty of folks are running 37s!

I agree. I’ve read SO MANY posts here on 37’s but can’t find anything on whether they’ll completely fit at full lock. Assuming stock wheels or a mild offset. My wheels are quadratec recon 17x8.5.

So those wheels are 5.2" backspace, +10 Offset. There should be someone that has that configuration to tell you. I'm running 35" at zero offset.

went 35's.... Regret it.. Going to take a huge loss when I go to 37's & sell my 35's used.
I hear you. Been thinking a lot about 37s. Not sure I want to add the weight and honestly think I would want to regear also, so there is that expense. I have some heavy modifications and mine weighs almost 6,000 lbs now. That makes me stay in 7th gear if there is any wind or driving over 60mph. With 37s I think 4.88 gears would be perfect to use 8th gear for me.

@JP1 Do you have any insight on the 37s rubbing?

The flat top part of the concrete ramp is 3-feet tall. And I was nearly all the way up it. So, just shy of 3' of articulation and stuffing 37's with the swaybar disconnected and a 2.5" spacer lift on an otherwise stock Rubicon suspension.
