Sorry, Noob here.
I’m looking to pull a camper over to a campground about 20 miles away. Trailer would be unloaded, no water or anything like that. I have the 8 speed automatic 850RE transmission, 3.73 Axle Ratio.
Used to have a 2005 Ford F150 that I would use once in a while to pull it. Camper and truck belonged to my parents before they past away. Traded truck in when I got the Jeep.
I provided weight info I found online for trailer and also took pic of the door sticker.
Thanks

Without the max tow/ 4.10 gears your towing limit is 4500 lbs.

If he has the tow package but not max tow his towing capacity is 6,000#’s. 4,500 is the rating for 3.73/autos without the tow package.
3.73/auto = 4,500#
3.73/auto = 6,000# with tow package
4.10/auto = 7,650# with max tow package

We moved to a new house yesterday so I moved our 16 foot trampoline on an 8 foot flatbed. I told my kids if they ever did anything this stupid that I would disown them and cut them out of my will.
Any pics?

It wouldn’t let me load them earlier this morning.

I will add that wide load drivers are a special breed. It was nerve wracking hanging that far over the sides. I only went two miles but both of them sucked.

Just remember that the tow and haul ratings assume no passengers, no luggage, etc. The tongue weight is subtracted from the haul rating. I have a max tow and a 21' Airstream with 3990 dry weight. That weight is not realistic because everyone puts "stuff" into their trailers. It is also 8' wide so I would need extended mirrors to tow it. In a pinch, I cold tow the Airstream with my Sport S Max Tow, but I would not be fully comfortable. I prefer to use my Ram 3500 SRW short bed for towing bigger stuff in the 4500-8000 lb range.

I am using a Curt Venturer 51110 brake controller and 51458 harness for a Ram, with the black and blue leads swapped at the connector that plugs into the Jeep harness. Cost was about $50; I went this low-cost route as I don't plan on a lot of towing.
