Like you said - the soft top is awesome! I am really enjoying the ease of dropping the top. I ordered the rear window bag yesterday.

now I need to figure out the best way to hang the hardtop from the ceiling in the garage.
Going high end, lol. I used an $8 piece of fabric and fabric glue to make an envelope to put my rear window in.

Your better off making your own one probably. Was not impressed with the one my dad's JK had. Actually ended up breaking the window when we lowered it due to the assinine way it clipped behind the window.

designing up a hardtop lift now... looking at making a platform to mount the hardtop to and store the freedom panels. Then lift that platform up to the ceiling... I'll post pics if I get it worked out

Glad I can help. It is repayment for all the help that fellow forum members gave me to get Samson built. This truly is a great forum (the 2% excluded) that is looking to help each other built the Jeep that they want - without holding back. Thanks to all that have helped me along the way!

My original plan was to have it sprayed. I decided to do the wrap so if I changed my mind, I could pull it off. Funny enough, the grille on mine is actually White. I bought it from another forum member, again to give me an option if I did not like the black. My original grille is hanging in my office in the house. Makes great wall art.... One thing to consider, I did not wrap the inserts to give the color contrast between the black and "greyish inserts". There is an OEM black grille that can be ordered, but the inserts with that one are also black.

Just things to consider. Congrats on the JT, keep the mods coming!

I built a suspended storage rack for my hard top and freedom panels. Made the frame out of 2x4’s and 3-inch #9 construction screws. It is 68-inches wide x 45-inches deep.

I used 1/2 x 6-inch eyebolts:

Added a support in the front for the top to rest on - there is garage door rubber seal where the top rests.

Added casters so I can move it around when on the ground and a few stops on the side and rear to keep the top from sliding off the platform. I had the netting from a past Grand Cherokee so I rigged that up to provide light downward force on the top in the front and act as a drop of the freedom tops shifted forward

Suspended the platform from the ceiling with ratchet straps (500 lbs load rated) and the ceiling mounts are rated at 400 lbs each.

I added foam under the rear to support the top off the platform.

I only need it high enough that I can pull my Z4 under it. Going to let it hang overnight and put the Z under it tomorrow....

I see I'm not the only one with a beer fridge covered in a million stickers....
Hahaha!! Busted! My last beer fridge died and I peeled some off to keep it going on the new one! Great way to commemorate travel/experiences!

Hey, a quick shout-out of thanks for photos (much) earlier in the thread that showed your Warn grille guard with the KC Gravity Pro6 lights. I ended up going with the same combo and your detailed pix showed clearly that everything fit, had clearance, and looked good.

Much appreciated!

Here ya go. Clearly, this is gonna look REALLY familiar. The combo of the lights and the grille guard look like they were made for each other, given how the clearance works out. And thus the grill guard kinda sorta guards the lights too (from stuff falling on them).

The only thing I'm not crazy about is the way the grill guard crowds the tow hook on the Ruby steel bumper. So, I can't get the Factor55 Flatlink E over the tow hook for a double-line pull. But let's be real, how often does that happen, LOL. And on that very rare occasion, I'll just connect it with a soft shackle. (Or as my son noted, in 10 minutes, I can ratchet off the grill guard with tools we always carry.)

And regardless, I love the lights/grill guard combo, so functional and with a classic look. Thanks for doing the research and posting such great pix!
