Because you're getting it from both sides, I'm more inclined to believe it is where your upper control arms mount to the frame. I have a similar popping noise and I don't have CBI rails.
I'd take the rails off, drive it for a few days and see if the noise persists.
Around $2000 with parts and labor. In Houston, I would suggest 249 Drivetrain. They specialize in gearing. The owner is a little weird but he knows his stuff. I had a local Jeep/offroad shop do my gears and I'm regretting not having someone who does just gears perform the work.
I agree. At least go 4.88. I'm running 5.13s on my Texas Trail with 37s. 8th gear is not an issue at all and it goes around 2300 at 70 mph on the highway.
LOL at local news stations. They wouldn't give two craps about what a dealership is charging for a package the dealership added to a vehicle.
In reality, the salesperson is going to go to the sales manager and give them your requests and the sales manager is going to reply back that, no they...
Absolutely. There are trails there that a stock Overland Gladiator with street tires could do. Hell, I saw a brand new Chevrolet Z71 at the top peak and it was on stock Goodyear Wranglers. There's also some stuff that you can get into that will definitely tear your Gladiator up or flip it over...
No, I haven't been to General Sam's but like Levi said, it's generally the same thing as Xtreme. If you really just want to get out there and be able to put it into 4WD, work the gears and understand how it will perform, I suggest going to one of those places on a weekday when it's less crowded...
A CJDR dealership here in Houston just opened up their dedicated Jeep only showroom/building a few months ago. They've already had two large Jeep gatherings (600 Jeeps a few weekends ago) with prizes, activities, free food, etc. They're going all in on selling the experience.

I live about 10 minutes away from Xtreme in Crosby. While there are some areas that you can take a Jeep, the whole place is really geared more towards ATVs and SxS. Most of the trails are narrow but there are some wide open areas near the river. Just a word of warning, the weekends get crazy...
I have a .75" spacer on the front with my Clayton 2.5" Ride Right and due to the weight of my front bumper, winch and lights, it still has a slight rake to it. Maybe if I didn't have all that stuff on the front, it might be level.
I can help a little here.
The 2022 dates for Go Topless Weekend are May 20-22. The official Jeeps at the Beach TX event is being held at Surfside. The unofficial event that is a general Go Topless Weekend is also being held at Crystal Beach.
I have been to both Crystal Beach and to Surfside...
I had the rear most muffler cut out and a piece of pipe put it in it's place. It tucks up nice and neat under the rear fender and has a nice little sound during startup. During acceleration, I can't hear it over my S&B intake. The main issue is that sitting at idle, it idles rough now. It's as...
Even funnier is that you can't even read that I didn't quote you. I quoted Caraholic. So this wasn't directed toward you in any way, yet you immediately saw the word 4Runner and got your panties in a bunch just like they did.
After months of backordered/waiting, I finally received both BedRug and Softopper and even though it took awhile to get to me, I feel it was well worth the wait. Softopper was a breeze to install and looks and feels great. BedRug wasn't as easy but I think it compliments the Softopper well.
Now...
I finally also received my Softopper a few days ago. I ordered it in early January and got it in early April. Definitely worth the wait though. It's made very well, easy to assemble and works well with the BedRug. I still have to cut out the front window for the dog window, but not really in a...
But he's right and you know it. The current 4Runner platform is a dinosaur. If you want to justify purchasing one for reliability, you'll get no argument. But feature wise, performance wise and everything else, you're delusional if you think that a 4Runner is comparable to a new Wrangler or...
I think that's the big difference between Livingston MT and a place like Houston TX. So many people here that even if you buy a car from the same dealer every year, they don't remember you. On the plus side, if I have a bad experience with a particular dealer, I have at least 15 other dealers in...
