  1. Brake-lock differential deserves more credit.

Respectfully disagree. Brake-lock/traction control are amazing and make a huge difference, but in certain situations (light front end or one wheel off the ground), there is no substitute for a real locker.
  2. Diesel Engine issue tracking thread... also please post if NO issues!

I’m with you. Getting 21-22 in town. I’d have to drive like a grandma to get 25+. Still miles better than my old JKU at 14-15 in town…
  3. What's the hardest Jeep mod/install you've ever done?

Probably putting an Aussie locker in my first JK. Had to make several trips to the hardware store for tools and then called around till I found someone with a bench vise I could use to take the diff apart.
  4. People confused why I removed Mojave hood stickers and badges from my Jeep

Hey, how about some consideration for those of us who buy Rubis to keep them stock because they work just fine for the 5x/year we wheel them!
  5. New ecodiesel California edition build

I really like this mount, but doesn’t it prevent you from fully using the driver’s visor?
  6. What did you HAUL in your JT today?

You definitely win the most interesting haul!
  7. 2023 Chevy Colorado just dropped... What does that mean for the Gladiator.

Agree. My 2018 JKUR came with stock LEDs and they were wonderful. I bought my JT off the lot and was surprised to learn that LEDs weren’t standard on the Rubicon or Mojave trim. I may add them at some point but it’s hard to spend $1k+ after the fact to retrofit a factory option.
  8. Ecodiesel vs gas engine for a Gladiator Sport S ?

Yep, an important point to remember for all issues people post about on this forum. “My truck has worked great for 4 years with no issues” makes for a boring post. The most outspoken people on the forums are going to be the ones with issues which always makes it look like huge problems are more...
  9. Rubicon, would installing the "open hood vents" improve cooling when towing?

My view is that if opening the hood vents materially improved cooling (especially on the diesel), FCA would’ve done it from the factory.
  10. Install 9000 lb. Warn winch on Mojave plastic bumper, record time and zero sag!

For what it’s worth, I like the thimble style more than the flatlink. The thimble lets you use a shackle either on the pin end or loop end where a flatlink only lets you use the pin end. Not usually a huge deal but I like the versatility and having the thimble saved my butt winching off a fixed...
  11. Install 9000 lb. Warn winch on Mojave plastic bumper, record time and zero sag!

I did a similar setup. I would guess my droop is less than 1/2”. I’m planning to add a spacer back up front (I did the same thing with my JKU) but it’s pretty close to the same. More than it would be with a steel bumper.
  12. Installed a winch on my stock (plastic) Rubicon bumper - DIY writeup

Right—mine has a wireless on/off switch on the solenoid box. If there is a phantom draw I never noticed it in the 4+ years this winch was on my old rig.
  13. Ecodiesel vs gas engine for a Gladiator Sport S ?

If you can afford it (and don't get a lemon), the diesel is awesome. I've had a 3.6 since they came out on JKs in 2012 and the driving experience with the EcoDiesel is 1,000 times better. More torque and you really feel the acceleration. I can't imagine having a Gladiator with the 3.6. My wife...
  14. Installed a winch on my stock (plastic) Rubicon bumper - DIY writeup

I believe the Overland and Rubicon plastic bumpers are the same 3-piece construction. The Sports are different and only 2-piece. So the disassembly steps should be the same, I think.
  15. Installed a winch on my stock (plastic) Rubicon bumper - DIY writeup

I'm impressed you got it to fit without cutting more out of the front. I might not have tried hard enough but I didn't see a way I was going to squeeze it back on without cutting out that opening.
  16. Installed a winch on my stock (plastic) Rubicon bumper - DIY writeup

Looks great @AmishMike! What winch plate did you use? Finished up my install today--got it all wired up and put my line on there. I should probably get a cover...
  17. What did you do TO your Gladiator today?

I installed a winch on my stock plastic Rubi bumper (thread here). Not as clean as @aqcjeepGlad's but I'll take it!
  18. Installed a winch on my stock (plastic) Rubicon bumper - DIY writeup

I ran the stock bumper with a stubby kit and a Rock Hard 4X4 winch plate on my JKU for years before I got my JT and liked it a lot. Pictured here on my old Jeep in Moab... These days, I'm a fan of keeping things as stock as possible. I've always found I need a steel rear bumper more than a...
