  1. Warranty Repair

Would you mind taking a pic or screenshot of where it says up to 4" lift is acceptable? Can't say I've ever heard of that, nor would I imagine Jeep/MOPAR would ever actually state something like that since the OEM Jeep lift kit is only 2". Even the new upfit lifts they partnered with AEV on for...
  2. Warranty Repair

A lift (and larger tires) do affect the power delivery from the engine through the drivetrain, and messes with factory shift points and driveline angles. That is a fact. Now, whether they can successfully (or at least try) to blame your lift/tires on an engine component failing is likely up to...
  3. Auxiliary Switches - Wire Ampacity Questions

Also had my doubts when I was wiring some accessories to them... definitely seem too small
  4. Leather to cloth on front buckets

I was actually talking about doing a true seat cover swap (not putting a cover over the OEM seat cover).
  5. Leather to cloth on front buckets

Seat covers should be the same as long as you replace with Rubicon specific cloth covers. The sport seats use different foam (and potentially shaped a bit different). Mojave seats also have more side bolstering. Hopefully someone can chime in that's done fabric to leather to confirm.
  6. So I need help. OE Steel Bumper

If you have some DIY skills, there's also been some members that have modified the OEM plastic front bumper to work with a winch plate and hidden winch, which would probably save the most weight. Example...
  7. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Yeah, I was wondering if you'd have to trim that horizontal bar and the one just above it to clear the body of the key fob. If that's all you need to remove, not so bad I guess.
  8. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

So now the question, how much trimming is needed for the Bolt hood lock?
  9. No Forum Trips Anymore

Could also just be that the gladiator is a lot of owners' main mode of transportation, whereas older TJ/CJs are side vehicles for fun and recreation... not nearly as fun when your primary vehicle gets major trail damage and is out of commission. Some (including myself) also just won't push it...
  10. Pricing is getting ridiculous, thread 545

I think it comes with the building
  11. Plastic vs Steel OEM Bumper

In my eyes, it's sometimes better to have a bumper that's going to flex and absorb damage in minor impacts. If you have a stout steel bumper that's mounted to your frame, if the hit is severe enough it can also cause the impact damage to the frame which can end up being more costly and harder to...

Are those for igniting zombies ahead of you? Wowza
  13. Plastic vs Steel OEM Bumper

To add to the above, keep in mind steel bumpers typically add weight, so if you prioritize payload/towing capacity you'll sacrifice some of it. Heavy bumpers/accessories can also cause your suspension to sag a bit; mine dropped about an inch when I added the OEM front steel bumper, winch plate...
  14. Plastic vs Steel OEM Bumper

Here's a breakdown: Rubicon: gets steel rear bumper standard, front is a standard plastic bumper but can be ordered with the optional steel front bumper. If it's steel it'll have a bunch of bolt heads sticking out of it and the left right side wings are removable. All other trims get plastic...
  15. Tru-Trac in front diff?

My side ride is a 2004 WJ with "varilock" LSD diffs front and rear, and the full time 4WD t case. It's amazing in the slick/snow, wish I could have the JT set up like it. Probably not the best for rock crawling, but I wouldn't want anything else for a DD in the northern states. Please followup...

Mine came from the factory a few degrees off. Over 4 years later and still telling myself I'll adjust it... eventually.

  19. So this happened now need replacement grill

You should be able to find a takeoff front bumper for really cheap, people seem desperate to get rid of the plastic ones like yours when they upgrade. As someone else posted, the damaged grill trim piece should be cheap to replace, it can be removed from the grill assembly. The sport grills are...
