  1. Jeep is Cutting Prices and Adding Content!

I'm not convinced you get the 4xe and how it works or what it's real purpose is. Think Prius in that you don't have to charge it, it charges itself off brakes and engine. If you want to charge it, you can but you can run it it's whole life with out and still get the full HP/tq out of it...
  2. Jeep is Cutting Prices and Adding Content!

It's a hybrid with an 8 year warranty on the battery not a pure ev. Even degraded capacity the battery will still hold more than enough charge to give you the HP and tq numbers until the battery actually fully dies which is more like 12-15 years if we go by current tech life span. The 4xe also...
  3. Towed new 4300lb camper in 30-50mph winds

I've heard the 2024s come with a payload detector, if you are over by a pound it goes limp mode and announces the vehicle you are driving is too fat, please pull over.
  4. Towed new 4300lb camper in 30-50mph winds

There is a reason in Europe the tow ratings are huge vs ours. Most of it just comes down to the towing speed limit on Europe is quite low so they can tow more cause they just go slower. Euro wrangler is 5k pounds, American wrangler 3.5k for example.
  5. Towed new 4300lb camper in 30-50mph winds

I ended up selling the Aliner as it was the expedition so it's big for 1 or 2 people but small for a family of 4 and a standard poodle. I do love the Aliner though, and anyone with no kids should really look in to them. Plenty of space for 1 or 2 people and everything you need inside, while...
  6. Towed new 4300lb camper in 30-50mph winds

This year we are going to TN for the Smoky Mountain Jeep Invasion, next year we are thinking about trying to get to Texas. The problem with living in Florida is it's already a haul just getting to Georgia or Alabama so farther trips take a good bit of time. Eventually we'd like to get out west...
  7. Towed new 4300lb camper in 30-50mph winds

I liked the 19.3 a lot but the wife wanted a slide. We have a lot of trips planned this year with it so I'll be trying to post up more often about the different places we go.
  8. Towed new 4300lb camper in 30-50mph winds

Depends on where you are towing, how far you are towing, and how much payload you are using up on people and other stuff. 80% is considered a good number which is 5600lbs on the Rubicon. If you are towing lots of mountains less is probably recommended, if you are in relatively flat only you can...
  9. Towed new 4300lb camper in 30-50mph winds

Yeah, my goal was to stay in the 5k gvwr range as we plan on taking this up to TN and around that area as well so I wanted to stay well below my max. If I was just staying around here in Florida I could have probably gone closer to 6k but this camper has more than enough space for the kids...
  10. Towed new 4300lb camper in 30-50mph winds

No, I'm on 38s with a 2.5 inch Clayton lift and 5.13s. around town I actually did fine, it was the high winds highway speeds (55-65mph) that really just made it feel a little less adequate. Never unsafe, but it was definitely working against that headwind.
  11. Drop Hitch Recommendations

I'm running the aluminum weigh safe with a 6 inch drop for 38s, a 2.5 Clayton lift, and a relatively low Aliner expedition in the 25-2600lb range. I really liked the weigh safe since I could adjust the cargo to get it to a good tongue weight based on tanks, coolers, food and other stuff that...
  12. Jeep is Cutting Prices and Adding Content!

I'm still hoping for an early 2025 gladiator 4xe in hellayella like they did for the 2024 wrangler that came out last June.
  13. Towed new 4300lb camper in 30-50mph winds

Yeah, this was a private party sale so for this tow home I had to use it as setup for the guys Toyota Sequoia. Was a little worried when I saw how nose high it was but couldn't do much as the drop was already at its lowest point. I'll be getting a much longer drop hitch to get it more level...
  14. Towed new 4300lb camper in 30-50mph winds

So I picked up our new camper today, a No Boundaries 19.8, and of course the weather decided it needed to not cooperate. Drove the 3 hours home in 25-30mph sustained winds and 50+ mph gusts. Surprisingly with the blue ox 2 point, not a lot of drama or real issue with the tail wagging the dog...
  15. 24 Order Site up, Wow !!

The lack of options like painted fenders, painted roof, fulltime 4wd on anything but an X is definitely a kick in the teeth, but on prices meh. The X is 6K more MSRP than my 2021 with similar options, add in the under invoice pricing and its a couple thousand...maybe people just didnt notice...
  16. Rented a 4xE JL in AZ and wheeled it...interesting experience

This, manual mode keeps the engine on or we hit esave, we also usually disable max Regen when off road so that it works like a regular brake pedal instead. It still uses the hybrid for braking first it's just you control how much hybrid braking force with the pedal before it also engages the pads.
  17. Running right?

Those people are lying that they're getting 20 mpg on 35's with a lift on the highway. At best they're just looking at the instant read out and seeing it some times be that high and say thats what they get, but yeah, no. Edit: Also what was mentioned above about winter gas, my MPG's really took...
  18. Building a Mojavicon: Adding Lockers and Swaybar to a Mojave

Grenadiers are definitely cool, we have a dealer near here with 3 in stock. The price tag is really hard to swallow for what you're getting though. Then again, the grenadier feels more like a G-Wagon competitor than an actual wrangler competitor imo. Both really capable for sure, but not likely...
  19. Owners with 40k+ miles on their 37s

I replaced my grabber ATX at about 50k miles but probably could have gotten closer to 60k or more.
  20. Building a Mojavicon: Adding Lockers and Swaybar to a Mojave

I've been here for years and there have maybe been a handful reported. They have been on massively overloaded (8500+ lbs) gladiators, and people jumping or smashing whoops at much too high of a speed where they bottom out the shocks and bump stops typically after going airborne. The frame is...
