  2. AEV-Conversions -- Dualsport RT vs. XP lifts, any tangible differences that are worth the extra $$ for XP?

They inherently have more travel because the piston is in the reservoir, so the “shock” can have a longer compartment for the same external dimension.
  3. Best Portable Jack for lifted truck

I’ve seen people post these but I guess I don’t see the benefit over a cheaper bottle jack. Maybe it’s faster? But have to connect to air.. I think the simpler the better. Give me a sturdy scissor jack.

  5. AEV-Conversions -- Dualsport RT vs. XP lifts, any tangible differences that are worth the extra $$ for XP?

For whatever it’s worth, reservoir shocks will have a little more total stroke for a given shock length, so you can try to maximize flex. For most people that’s probably not a noticeable benefit, though.

I walked through the wide open floor inside the Luxor, nobody within 200 feet in any direction, and plowed through a dense fart cloud. Who knows how long it had been sitting there😂

I could lay claim that I wrote the book on that
  8. JK AEV SAVEGRE Wheels on JT

I had thought that the JL wheels had less offset than the JK, not more, but I had it backwards. Per the interwebs, you are correct and the JK version sticks out more than the JL version. I imagine the issue would’ve been if it stuck out less. Like I wonder if you put the JL version in a JK, if...
  9. Destination Unknown - 2022 JTR journal

I would be really curious to see if LiPo batteries with heating pads would be effective depending on how long they sit. Of course that’s inefficient and more expensive, but if it’s only overnight or something, it might be worth the overnight drain compared to the weight and capacity of using...
  10. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Yea.. I mean if it breaks you could still probably make it off trail and home. Bend up the bracket and buy the aftermarket ones… may have a broken end link. Easy prevention but not a crazy hard fix🤷‍♂️. I just thought, “holy shit this guy mailed me a piece of his broken bracket, I better fix...
  11. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

I did, but I was gonna say this isn’t the sort of thing that will strand you, it’s not preventing some catastrophic expensive repair. Could let it ride and may never need it🤷‍♂️. If it break, then you buy the brackets

Quite a few, luckily mine hadn't broken but I added it b/c of all this. https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/broken-tab-weld-on-mojave-frame-no-warranty.53002/ https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/cracked-both-rear-sway-bar-end-link-mounts-back-plate-weld.53262/...
  13. Epic JT Offroad Trip to the Western Plateau (EP.02)

Can you talk more about your road restrictions? I'm curious how extensive these tolls are. What did you do with the produce? It was cheaper to buy a bed-full of produce than pay the tolls and haul gear? Also, do yo know how high you got when you were sick? I see you stayed somewhere at...
  14. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

I believe all the brackets were manufactured the same, it's a split tab with the nut welded on the back side. With enough downward force the split was tearing open. (You know more about manufacturing than I do, but that split looks like a known weak point. Some guys welded the seam, I don't...
  15. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Use, I’m sure. I mean the guy sent me his used spacer kit and the rear sway link still has the nut on it that got ripped out of his OEM bracket. I forget the details when I installed mine but I don’t remember a problem when I installed the spacers. When I put the reinforcement brackets on I...
  16. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

You may want to invest in some sway bracket reinforcement. I have seen several people post here that they split the OEM tab, more than one was an AEV spacer lift. (The used kit I bought still had the guy’s OEM nut frozen onto the rear seat link😂). I am not sure if the AEV links are too short...

So they want you to reuse the wheel studs? As I change wheels back and forth I wonder if there is a short lifespan of wheel studs and I should worry about changing them.
  18. Rock Krawler Pro-X Control Arms Package

I’m lifted a few inches and I wouldn’t say it feels looser. Conversely, I think it got rid of some of the weird crosstalk/wobble I’d get over big bumps or like turning into driveways and rocking back and forth 4 times. Not discrediting it may not be as “strong” as stock
  19. 35” vs. 37” tires and belly scraping

A few of us have the ASFIR skid. Inexpensive, aluminum, seems totally fine for its purpose. I have a few scratches on mine especially back where the bolts are but seems perfectly sturdy. The bolts in the OEM transfer case skid are more torn up since these have the beveled washers protecting...
