From what I researched, these are positively locking, hydraulic jack is only used for lifting. Once in position, the pressure is released and they lock like regular stands. Honestly I think these are safer since you can lift in stages. I had a car slide on me from a stand before while jacking up...

Yeah there was a huge recall on HF jacks years back. The set I currently use was not a part of it, but I still but an old tire under just in case…

I actually have 4 HF stands and a low profile 3 ton Pittsburgh jack. Works well for lower cars but not for the Jeep. I can lift it and secure high enough to do any work under the truck but can’t take the wheels off. Hydraulic ones supposedly extend further than regular jacks.

Looking for feedback from someone who actually owns/used them. Do they give enough clearance to get tires off the ground, how is the quality, any major issues? Jegs has the 3ton models at a reasonable price.
