For a hundred bucks I'd do it. It'd be worth just to be able to add the Mopar bed rock sliders, and if those come with the rear bumper, that's a steal of a price. Make sure you get the brackets and hardware that attach the bed sliders to the truck frame too.
I agree, it's a cheap preventative move that might save some electronics or gear you might have behind or under the seats. If mine gets worse, I'll probably have a window installer just fully fill the gap above with window with window urethane and be done with it.
I still can't believe the...
It's the plastic water gutter/trough directly adhered to the inside surface of the top of the window that stress cracks and leaks. My guess is that the rear window expands/contracts at a faster rate than the plastic trough (especially when using the rear defroster), and it over time causes all...
I have the base radio (No GPS) before before they added the standard LTE connection in later years (So no cell issues either), and don't use XM. So, there may be issues, but not for my use cases.
My right rear oracle tail light recently started giving me bulb out warnings on my dash whenever I hold the brake pedal for a few seconds, but as far as I can tell the light is staying on. My jeep is configured for halogen settings still, and I used the supplied resistors to allow for an...
The cell modems may give continuous data harvesting, but I bet they also download the data during service visits at dealerships even if you don't have the cell modem.
Doesn't a typical hard topper like the A.R.E. CX work for your needs? Can have sliding side windows for ventilation, can order with tracks and crossbars on top that match up well enough to cab mounted crossbars, and can still slide in a 4x8 ft sheet from the back. If you order the flip up side...
Keep in mind the driver door jamb sticker that tells you your payload and towing numbers. Max Tow models will show higher values, so even if you gut everything you'll still have the higher payload/towing sticker even if it's not accurate anymore due to all the modifications.
Mine gets an annoying wind whistle from the top front of the driver door in crosswind conditions, which I'm also assuming is a loose fit door. I'll be looking at adjusting the hinges inward where they're bolted to the cab, just haven't got around to it yet. Maybe that'd fix yours too.
If...
Yes, something like mud from a trail could have dropped down from the roof and caked inside the rear window's top drainage track. Pretty unlikely it'd block both ends of the track and trap water between, but possible I suppose.
The window (and it's internal track that cracks and drips inside the JT) is pretty well isolated from the roof, the rear window assembly is stuck to the back of the roof with urethane all around it (just like the front window is attached). So yes, you may have a crack in the fiberglass top and...
Sloshing would be some other issue, maybe the top of your rear window's drain track is clogged with debris and the water can't make it out to the ends of the window where it naturally will drain.
Or the water drained into the storage area behind the rear seats and it's sloshing there ?
As you mentioned, seems like the front of the frame rails got bent/pulled inward (the hooks' current position are a giveaway of this). Straightening those and ensuring they're still structurally sound will probably be the spendy/difficult part. Not sure on cost though.
If you look around on...
The TeraFlex spring spacers effectively make your springs longer, so whatever extra length in spring/spacer you add, you get that much closer to the max extended length of your shock. In this case, you add 1.5" spacer, your shock is always going to be 1.5" more extended than normal and would...
Your passenger has to stand up in the cab so their upper body is visible and they hand signal like a motorcyclist. Inconvenient, yes, but necessary. Goggles recommended.
