  1. Muffler removal?

Keep in mind that it's a Federal offense to make any changes to the factory exhaust system, as it's considered a unit from an emissions standpoint. Just sayin' Kevin
  2. AuxBeam R4 pods, 60w total, can I just use a 15a AuxSwitch?

You'll be OK with the 15A fused circuit. The fuse is there to protect the wiring, so 15A won't be overkill. Just connect the lights and don't mess with the fuse. Kevin
  3. Well, time for number 5 (windshield replacement)

A pickup headed the other way flipped up a rock. On pavement. The one before this (the first Gorilla Glass) was smacked by a large stone from between a set of duals on a dump truck as I was overtaking. Kevin
  4. Auto Start Stop switch – Not why? But Why?

Studies have been done. The fuel savings is in the 5% to 7% range. And the second battery is just one way of implementing ESS. Other manufacturers use a single battery. And the starter motor is supposedly designed to handle the additional start cycles. Kevin
  5. Should i keep a added warranty??

To add some further information... I purchased the 75K mile extended warranty, and paid ~$2k for it. I used it a couple times for minor things; mostly I got it for peace of mind. Now, at 74,500 miles, I asked about extending it to 100K miles, and was quoted ~$5K! I'm not paying that for peace of...
  6. Well, time for number 5 (windshield replacement)

One helluva BANG! This was a replacement HGP Gorilla Glass windshield. It was replaced by windshield number 5: a normal glass one for half the price. Dammit... Kevin
  7. Front floor plugs?

You don't really want to do that, as the rubber floor mat won't fit properly if you have a plug already in the hole. Also, it won't drain properly, either. Kevin
  8. Front floor plugs?

You can pull the plug out of the floormat and replace it in the hole. Kevin
  9. Old Jeep pics [ Jeep porn ]

These all just remind me that I need to get my '71 J4000 out and running! Thanks for the pictures! Kevin
  10. The complete spectrum of 2024 truck design in a couple photos . . .

I thought it was already... And as a side note, the Cybertruck is a very large vehicle. Kevin
  11. Driveshaft weights

    ...or the seals. Kevin
  12. Flat towing

This is actually an option: you can buy kits for this. You just need to have room in the taillight housing for an additional bulb/socket. It does however leave your license plate light & marker lights out... Kevin
  13. Flat towing

I wired my own harness for the JT. I've got a wireless taillight transmitter tucked away behind the front bumper, and +12V & ground also. I used a coiled cord with 7 conductors, putting a 7-pin connector on the RV end, and a 6-pin round connector on the Jeep end, thereby keeping the connector on...
  14. 12v dash plug need constant on

I needed a high current source, so I ran a dedicated line from the battery (via a 30A fuse) to a 12V accessory socket in the driver's footwell. Kevin
  15. It finally happened: I got ducked!

After driving all over the western US for nearly 4 years, I got ducked! Albeit at a Cracker Barrel, but still… Kevin
  16. Oil change miles -- how often do you change oil?

When the oil life monitor tells me to. That's what its there for, after all. Most of my driving is highway/freeway, and I don't regularly commute. The oil life monitor typically takes me to nearly 10,000 miles. Kevin
  17. Fog Light Not Working

Then one would assume it's programmed correctly. I've changed out all of the lamps on my 2021 Sport S to LEDs, and set the programming to LED lamps using J-Scan. When the lamps fail, I've never received a warning. Kevin
  18. Fog Light Not Working

Did you change the programming to LED lamps? Kevin
  19. Rear reflector delete /rear flush mount light plates

Keep in mind that rear-facing reflectors are required under federal law. Kevin
  20. $25,000 Jeep EV

Ask Tesla about the original base-model Model 3. Priced at ~$35k (after tax incentives,) with a range of ~200 miles. Getting range up to the 350 category would add close to $10k to the sticker. I can just see Stellantis introducing an EV Jeep with shitty range for $25k. Kevin
