  1. Going to 37s eventually, What steering upgrades are mandatory?

Lol. You need to understand you weren't there, but hey, thank you for such a knowledgeable insight how all things work. Early spring in Colorado with snow, ruts, runoff turned what would normally be a level 5 trail into an easy 7-8. Had both front wheels been touching terra-firma, I probably...
  2. Going to 37s eventually, What steering upgrades are mandatory?

I started on 37's, with just a SteerSmarts tie-rod and Fox dampener. It worked well, but I had issues in situations where you have a bunch of weight on the front end, aired down, with the diff locked, the stock power steering would not turn the wheels unless I was rolling (going down super...
  3. 37s, 38s, 39s, and 40s! What would you have done differently?

I started off with 37's and regeared with 4:88's. Later on I went with 38's and wish I would have gone with 5:13's.
  4. That very first NECESSARY mod

    1) Tazr 2) Headliners (for the winter/cold & Middle Summer/Hot) 3) Bestop Sunrider (I know that's an odd choice, but I've enjoyed it a lot more than I ever thought I would)
  5. Steering binding in 4lo

Thank you! I'll have to check it out!
  6. Winch Line Extension Length

I'm pretty set on my recovery gear, but was wanting to add a winch line extension to my kit and was wondering what you all normally carry? I have a 12k Badlands Apex, that comes with a 80' rope (Obviously, you can't use all 80' though as you'd need to leave several wraps on the drum). I recently...
  7. Steering binding in 4lo

Lmao...yup! Ironically, my steering is SteerSmarts, and I'm now on Patagonia's now too!
  8. Steering binding in 4lo

I did the same a while back and couldn't be happier. Even with 38's on beadlocks aired waaaay down, it's still a breeze to steer, even with the front diff locked. I smile, but still cringe as it wasn't a cheap upgrade. I added Reed knuckles and Baller' joints at the same time. My only real...
  9. Diesel Tuners Indicted for smuggling...

I find it odd that most smog-related modifications come with the "For Off Road Use" disclaimer, yet it's never the consumer that they go after, when it's the consumer who actually commits the violation. My thoughts on that are because the consumer doesn't have a large pile of money; the...
  10. Method 703 wheels: Any pics of your stance or tire poke with these?

    Here's an update: 3.5" lift, on 17x9-12mm beadlocks with 38x13.50 Patagonia MT02's.
  11. Method 703 wheels: Any pics of your stance or tire poke with these?

Custom Offset has a website with a gallery you can filter vehicle, tire size, lift and wheel offset. Here's a pic of mine with 3.5" lift, 37's on some -12mm offset wheels.
  12. Slider with step functionality

I was in the same boat. I didn't plan on adding any steps until my wife complained. I run the MetalCloak Sliders with a 3.5 lift on 38's. They only provide a couple inches of drop, but my wife is happy with them. I flip them around for wheeling trips to add a tad more clearance. Or, you can...
  13. Labor cost for Clayton 2.5 install

That does sound high. $1700 for 5 hours comes out to $340 an hr. My 3.5" Metalcloak GameChanger labor install was 11hrs and cost $1320.
  14. 35's vs 37's?

My only input on the 35's vs 37's would be if you tow anything bigger than just a small utility trailer, unless you plan on a regear. A diesel might pull it off, but the 3.6 gasser would have a tough time with it.
  15. Lets see all those Gladiators with lifts and bigger tires!

    2023 JTR with a 3.5" MetalCloak Gamechanger lift, on 38" Patagonia's.
  16. Gladiator Recovery Assist Pictures: The Hall of Shame

Hell ya, me too! That's the greatest attribute to the Gladiator; room to carry them all.
  17. Adams Drive Shaft Going Back For Re-tube

For sure, the Adam's I run works great on the 3.5" MC Gamechanger I run. That's what the shop I use recommend. They said that folks with the one piece had reported clearance issues.
