If you are into overlanding or camping with the JT then you really need to go to the Overland Expo, I am. Everyone is there, all the U Tube people. There are some just awesome rigs that are not over the top. Go on the suite and look at the list of vendors. I'll be there with my avatar.
I know both is good. But for overlanding on roads much easier than the Rubicon what one makes you feel safer?
IMO,,, being unlifted will keep you out of bad places and a winch will help you get out of bad places.
In putting a lift together it would sure be helpful to have some basic measurements. Need to know the shock length at full compression in order to choose the correct one and a bumpstop. Example, running 35s with a 2 inch lift you don't need a 2 inch bump stop spacer with the correct shock. Bump...
I am looking to do a flexing 2-2.5 inch lift over the factory Rubicon. My 315-70-17 BFG KO2s don't rub with no added bumpstop spacers so don't want to add any for the lift. I like the factory rake so not really wanting to level it. I see the value of going all 8 arms for ease of flex over the...
I have the popular 315-70-17 BFG KO2's on my factory wheels and notice some minor bowing in the tread, not bad. A 8.5 wide wheel would probably make the tire tread flatter. The added 1 inch would be on the outside, same backspace. I do like the look of Method machine finish wheels. Just wonder...
For all of us doing the lift mods, knowing the spring rates in pounds per inch would be helpful. When I was doing the JK, I knew what the spring rates were of several. I don't know any of them for the JT. I know and understand the rears are multi rate for a good reason. Fronts mostly linear for...
It looks like in the next few years we will be getting a Hurricane engine in the JT's with a huge HP jump.Possibly better MPG. By then most of us will have our JT fully modded. Question is will we be willing to spend the thousands and start over to get the new I-6 engine with the twin turbo...
Looking to do a small quality lift under 2 inches. I learned the hard way with a 4 inch lift on a JKUR. Besides a spacer lift, does anyone make a quality lift at 2 inches or less. Mojave Road and Death Valley off road, not Rubicon Trail. Must maintain a great highway ride.
I have the spray in factory bed liner that resists the velcro stick on. Even the bedrug adhesive helper is weak at best. Thinking of just using a good contact glue or epoxy. I want a bed liner that is molded to the floor corrugations to make a smooth flat floor. Bedrug is about all there is. Any...
Really thinking of going with the ARE CX line of camper shell. Questions,,, Now they have a new one piece glass rear window in the Evo line. Anyone got it? The CX Classic line has a alu framed rear window with optional dual locking handles. Just trying to get an order decided as there is a 14...
Tomorrow morning I am getting 315-70-17 BFG-KO2 in C mounted as many many have done. Promised no rubbing on my JT Rubicon with factory stock suspension. Getting good money for the Falcon's while they are new so got to do it now. Is there any reason not to do this? Using the factory 7.5 wide...
Just bought a '22 JT Rubicon after a few years of modding a '14 JKUR with $$$$. I did the suspension more than once and don't want that to happen on the JT. I just ordered a ARE shell camper for it. I'll think about the suspension after I see where it is with the shell weight on it. I can get a...
I have a very nicely modded 2014 JKUR lifted, gears, rims and tires and even manual locking hubs. Came loaded from the factory, heated leather seats and all.
But,,,, with my 120 pound Bernese Mtn dog trying to overland and camp with it is just not working well for me. Thinking a fully loaded...
