Its been a while since I've posted. A bunch of changes. I ended up swapping to some method beadlocks that had a bit more offset, went to 42x13.5R17 Mickey Thompsons, steering upgrades, Motobilt fenders, rock sliders, armor etc..
Looks super clean. Do you have a 4 way tire inflation/deflation system? They're great when wheeling with onboard air since you can literally just connect it to all 4 tires and let it run. Something like this https://amzn.to/3LztyCv or the Morrflate system. The one I linked looks cool since...
Ah ok! The wheel base on the Gladiator makes it feel like nothing if you ever attempted or have seen it done on a shorter vehicle like a TJ. I ran it in October we ended up doing most of the badge trails including Pratchett Canyon.
Did you have a good time over there?
I ordered a new ram from Justin at West Texas Off Road today. We went wheeling pretty hard at Green Acres off road park in Clayton OK over the weekend. https://photos.app.goo.gl/Zhjd8W5im33MM1Ko7
https://amzn.to/3n6IkXZ going to install these on the hose ends while I wait for the ram to come in.
Finally finished installing MetalCloak Undercloak. The gas tank skid was a huge pain since my old gas skid was pretty mangled. It reuses the old skid under it, and a few holes were way misaligned. I had to use a ratchet strap to try to get things in place for the center bolt.
Its definitely way more stout than stock. I don't think I'd order it again though. It was sort of an impulse buy when I purchased the rest of the skid plates. I feel like if you have it all covered, the cross member should hold up.
I'd only purchase it if you plan on doing the metalcloak...
I started removing my skid plates and installed an upgraded MetalCloak cross member. The new skid plates should be finished by the weekend or whenever I have time.
I hit up most of the difficult & extreme trails in Moab, UT, including completing Pratchett Canyon in a Gladiator.
The Gladiator performed better over there than most of the shorter wheel base vehicles. However its bit of a bus if you're trying to make tight turns and it can get high centered...
I've got the same wheels but in a 8 lug pattern and I've been able to run them at 8 PSI without an issue.
I'm running
39x13.5R17 KM3s
Teraflex 4.5inch springs
Rockcrawler shocks
Metal cloak control arms.
UD60's etc..
I ended up working on getting the new box and hydro assist up and running thos weekend.
For now I ended up mounting it to my old steering stabilizer mount. It's not perfect since the ram isn't 100% parallel, but it's pretty close.
I feel like the hose closest to the passenger side is a little...
