Hitting the bump stops on occasion isn't a bad thing. I have a bad intersection that leads into a railroad crossing near my house and if I'm hustling through there my truck certainly gets a taste of the stops front and back :CWL:
Just FYI, the leveling kits such as the Teraflex 1.5" come with...
I have 5100's on my truck. I just went up to Atlanta Motor Speedway and back with all my camping gear, plus my usual loadout - bed was totally full with my normal chest tool box full of gear, all three of my water proof camping cases, a full 70 quart cooler, Gazelle tent, a folding bike, etc...
I've had that same 3W set since I got my truck in the summer of 2022. Great mats. I like them more than the Weathertech mats in my Camaro which are basically large pieces of molded plastic.
I put in whatever the manual says because I give myself enough anxiety about other things in this world I figure I can at least follow the book here.
Same with my SS Camaro.
Old project truck gets whatever is free or discounted though...
Rear looked good. Confident the rear bump stops will touch before the shocks will bottom out. The rear 5100's don't have as much extra length over stock as the front ones do.
If you don't mind the forward rake, then the drop won't be terrible with a winch and bumper, but it will probably be just noticeable. Personally the forward lean bothers me and I wanted my truck to sit relatively level - so the 1.5" spacer was perfect and did not sacrifice ride quality.
On my...
If you like the ride quality you currently have and aren't hard core wheeling - I personally think just throwing in a Teraflex 1.5" spacer lift in the front will be fine.
I have a '22 Max Tow, 1.5" Teraflex front level, Apex sway disconnects, Bilstein 5100's all the way around, factory springs...
Based on some short test drives on my common local routes - I am happy with it. Some longer rides will really tell the story. Interested in getting some real weight on them as well to see how they control it.
I considered this, but I didn't want to re-position my jack, and placement of my jack stands meant they would have been in the way.
And working in a narrow carport on one side.
All good - made it happen
Ask and you shall receive.
Sometimes.
Definitely only sometimes.

So after 25K miles I had fluid pouring out of the driver front shock, and seeping / oozing out of the other three. The driver front had also begun to make audible noises. All were 'controlling' the ride and had not completely devolved to bouncing, etc. - but I doubt it would have been far away...
This. The springs carry the weight. The shocks control the movement.
What are you trying to gain with playing with the suspension?
I specifically ordered a Max Tow as I wanted 4.10 gears and the most payload capacity I could get. It wasn't really about the tow capacity specifically. I put a...
Not a Rubicon, but, these were vital to me. So vital in fact that when I ordered my truck I had a lot of these items already waiting at the house by the time the truck was ready to pick up:
- Dead pedal
- Bullet Point phone mount
- Nice high sided floor mats
- Door sill protectors
- Front...
Hopefully so. Seems a lot of folks thought the Bilsteins were pretty firm, but a lot of reports seem to come from Rubicon owners and those Fox shocks were pretty mushy. My truck being a Max Tow already rode pretty 'sporty'.
This one is no wheeling rig so not sure when or if I'll add any types...
Been hearing a noise lately when going over the railroad tracks and figured it may be a shock. Rolled around under the truck and found one that is completely gone with oil dripping off the bottom (driver front), and another that has light residue and may go next (driver rear). Only 25K miles on...
I personally think a lift and 35s would put you in unpleasant territory trying to drag that trailer without regearing at the very least.
Heck, if that trailer really does weigh what you say it does, I can't imagine its super fun to pull as is.
My Sport has 4.10 gears (Max Tow) and I have 285/70R17s from a Rubicon. I also have a front leveling kit so my nose is in the air as bad as a stock Mojave. Even in a stiff head wind at 70-75 my truck will hold 6th gear which I believe is around 3,000 RPM. Probably not optimal for fuel mileage...
If I was upgrading out of a Gladiator that had literally nothing for options, I think it would be worth while, but I have little to gain from my '22 Max Tow that already has power windows / locks / dual zone climate / remote start / Android Auto - which is all I really wanted anyway when I...
