Much like you I drove mine stock for a year or so before any major changes however the first mods I did in that year of driving it stock were dead pedal, stubby antenna and grab handles for the fam.
After the year was over I did wheels, tires, lift, Autolynx, derringer and pedal monster.
Odds are you’re fine but to be 100% sure reach out to Clayton and ask.
I just put one of their lifts on this month and they were very responsive when I had questions.
So I did the best I could with the tools I have. I feel pretty good about most of them but I had a tough time with the passenger side front upper control arm jam nut. I could get my wrench on it but the exhaust prevented me from being able to really crank down on it. There’s just not enough...
Thanks for everyone’s input. That’s what I was hoping to hear. I’ll just use my 24” crescent wrench to tighten as much as I can and leave it at that.
I sent @Clayton Off Road an email via their website with this question but they haven't responded yet (might not be open today).
I'm installing an Overland+ 3.5" lift on my '21 JTOD and the torque spec for the Clayton jam nuts on the instructions seems astronomically high, 398 ft-lbs and 723...
In the process of installing a Clayton Overland+ 3.5" lift on my 2021 JTOD. I'm getting ready to drop the rear axle and trying to figure out what this hose is and if it's ok to disconnect it?
It attaches to the axle and then runs up to a plastic clip where it attaches to the underside of the...
If the only reason you’re considering the Mojave is the 4.10 gears then stick with your lower mileage High Altitude. Once you put your 35s on you can decide for yourself if a regear is necessary.
You're missing a key piece of info. Offset without knowing the wheel width is misleading at best. According to the Apex website you need at least 4.75" backspacing but they prefer 4.5" with the narrow axles. In order to achieve 4.5" backspacing on an 8.5" wide wheel that is -6 offset but its -12...
Thanks for everyone’s responses. Now I’m wondering how do you know if you have too much spacer?
I’m going with the Clayton Overland+ 3.5” and given that I won’t have a bunch of added weight I’ll likely get a little more than 3.5”. I saw both spacers on sale at Northridge this morning. Is it bad...
So it seems there are 2 main options for carrier bearing spacers. There’s the Rockjock @ roughly 3/4” and Rock Krawler @ over 2”. I see a lot of people recommend installing one to help with pinion angles post lift but my question is which one is the best option for a 3.5” lift?
I haven’t...
No personal experience but seems like possibly a bad idea. Not only are your tires bigger than spec but it’s likely your truck is too heavy as well. Not saying it couldn’t work but it might be risky.
