I went through this site a little. Tank (PGK) looks the closest. When looking through pictures (on that site and with the Google machine), most look ok, some are definitely mislabeled, and others a solid "meh." Here's one I found similar to how it looked on a cloudy day:
I saw a JK this week that looked to be what I expect out of Gator. No pics, and I'm not sure if it was factory...
Looked like this one from a 5 sec Google search:
This pic is in pretty bright light, the one I saw in person was on a typical midwestern cloudy day. I was not impressed, it's...
How much do we know about the weatherproofing of the interior? Does it have drain plugs and is it robust enough to hose down? I assume so, but it would be nice to see somebody confirm with a press loaner.
LEDs are more efficient because they do not waste energy creating heat, therefore snow is an issue. My suggestion if you want the upgrade is to get a light bar with some cheap halogen driving lamps. They will burn plenty hot for the twice a year you drive through a snow storm, and you won't need...
I'll give you an E for effort. Just don't ask me where that fits in the grading scale because I don't know.
Great job on this, your 'shop skills are far beyond mine.
Disclaimer: I'm not against the 2 door variant, options are what makes life interesting. I, just like numerous others on this forum, am just tired of seeing you make the same arguments over and over.
I understand that you want to annoy Jeep into making it. I get it. Please do that: bother...
You keep using this argument of Crew cab vs Quad cab, but I don't think it supports your argument.
Firstly, they went from making only a long 4 door to also making a slightly-not-quite-as-long 4 door. That is, they started with the most popular body style, then added the second most popular...
The biggest concern here is the reduced towing capacity. Since I don't specifically have heavy towing planned at this time I think I'll take the chance. It appears that the towing package will still be available. If it becomes a problem down the road, I expect the aftermarket to supply a...
This exactly. From what I've seen so far, Gator will be far too muted for me. I hope that seeing it in person will change my mind because I'd much rather have green than orange. This world needs more color.
This will be my first Jeep. I will take it on an occasional trail and hopefully get involved with the local Jeep crowd. I live within a day trip of a park in Lafayette, IN that I have heard good things about. I sold my truck for a fun car (no regrets), but then more recently got a house. So this...
I agree this is a bit disappointing. I now have to choose between towing or a manual. I was really looking forward to having both...
But then again, it's still the Jeep Truck we've all been waiting on forever so... yup. Still excited!
