  1. AEV 370 JTRD

One of my goals is to slowly replace all the stock suspension bits with Metalcloak pieces. First on the list was the drag link support, track bar bracket and new track bar. Drag link support was easy. Stock draglink nut was very tight. Had WD40d it a couple days before and still took some work...
  2. AEV 370 JTRD

Posted this in the diesel cooling thread, but adding to the build thread: Took me a little while to find time, but finished up the install of the larger cooler that @Primer Gray built. As noted the quality is excellent. I had to do some trimming and massaging of the AEV winch plate brackets...

Took me a little while to find time, but finished up the install of the larger cooler that @Primer Gray built. As noted the quality is excellent. I had to do some trimming and massaging of the AEV winch plate brackets that come down along the frame horns. Once that was done everything fit...
  4. We are driving around the world in our Jeep Gladiator we call DAUNTLESS

Always great updates! Will you be at Overland Expo in Costa Mesa next weekend? Thought I saw that the JT was going into storage on an update
  5. Diesel cooling options and ideas

I picked up the larger one and it is even nicer up close than the pics show. Factory or better. Looking forward to installing. We are towing this weekend and should be able to tepeat this route soon after to see how much cooling improvement is gained. Thanks @Primer Gray! Cool dude and excellent...
  6. Diesel Engine Additives Test

That's some good info, thanks for sharing! Looks like I am switching to XPD...
  7. Diesel cooling options and ideas

Yes S&B. For my area warm up isn’t a big issue but will put the plugs in when we are up in Mammoth over the weekend just to keep it warm - good tip. Shutters would be next level! Somewhere in this 90+ pages it was discussed and they don’t do anything other than let heat out of the hood when low...
  8. AEV 370 JTRD

Been a while since posting. I added the 41.22 Kill Switch. Maybe avoid having it stolen one day as long as you remember to set it. Very easy install. https://41twentytwo.com/product/vehicle-kill-switch/ Also added some S&B hood scoops. Realize they don't make any difference but they look nice...
  9. Diesel cooling options and ideas

I know they don't do anything, but they look good! I had already cut out the rubicon vents so these were about 20 minutes or so to install. It was on the xmas list from the Mrs
  10. Free Shipping Code for anything Diode Dynamics!

Another $25 off always helps! I have some of their lights on my JT. Quality stuff always. Thanks again!
  11. Free Shipping Code for anything Diode Dynamics!

Thanks for the code! Used it for some lights for my new Subie Outback Wilderness. Worked on top of the current 15% off sale
  12. Service electronic throttle control on 3.0 eco diesel

They refreshed my ECU a while back and issue has not occurred again. Pushed it pretty hard a few times with no issues. Maybe you can get into a dealer to help out. I always carry my code scanner to reset the engine codes. That worked for the previous times it went off.
  13. Fuel Filter Housing

I haven't put any effort into it. yet. Pretty sure it can go bacon with a little heat and hammering.
  14. Monument Valley - Tse’Bii’Ndzisgaii

Same happened on our trip. Tent campers got wiped out. It was intense
  15. Monument Valley - Tse’Bii’Ndzisgaii

I went with a group a few years ago in my JK. There was some boon docking near Mexican Hat that's pretty easy in/out. They arranged for us to camp down in the valley which was amazing. Well worth the visit. Canyon de Chelly is even more special - not sure you can get in there with your Jeep...
  16. AEV 370 JTRD

That is a good move. No issues with mine yet but I think I read they bend pretty easy. Metalcloak has some quality products.
  17. AEV 370 JTRD

Recent Big Bear trip with friends. Still a little snow left when we went. More rock smashing, but we only did Gold Mountain which is fairly easy. The Bronco needs a bit more clearance.
  18. AEV 370 JTRD

Quick and easy project - added the Metalcloak rear end link reinforcement and end links. AEV has a drop down bracket that isn't beefy, but no issues with it yet. As noted by others on the forum the AEV end link rubber caps are already deteriorating after 2 years. The Rockblokz bracket doesn't...
  19. Gladiator corrosion issue

I have this on my '22. Hood on lower edge both sides. There is a whole FB group dedicated to the issue. Went to the dealer which was yet another waste of time. Need to find one that has a body shop and see if I can get them to handle the repair.
  20. Fuel Filter Housing

Haha, tested to the fullest extent! It did its job. Did some of that fully loaded with hitch tire carrier, rtt and more camping junk than needed by a small army ?
