Vevor 12.5k winch same guts as the badlands. About 100 pulls so far on it. Only complaint is the wireless remote sometimes won't spool out only in while the wired remote works fine. Under $300 with syn line. I would likely buy it again for my use case. The line is really hard to clean...
Checked mine today. Wet /muddy but no rust. So water must be getting past the cap. Wondering if pulling the rock rails off. Rough up and bed coating would work. Little worried about fitting the rails back over the coating.
@NC_Overland covers it. So often the clutch won't fully engage or disengage without a little spin
If you pull the power and try to hand spin the drum do you hear the gear movement? If yes not fully disengaged
To your point. I was in Ocala Saturday. An easy trail. It was a muddy day. I pulled a group of 3 trucks that were stuck in the sugar.
1 ford ranger big tires 2 wd. Should not have been on that section without 4 wd
2 rams. 1 had 22 inch rims and street tires so no hope in the sugar. The...
@KevinC it was great to meet up at beach week with you. I end up tossing the extra ticket so hoping you will use it next year. As someone that doesn't love big crowds you might enjoy the ranch events. Can be completely off on your own there unless you want to be around people.
I have never wheeled a ifs truck. But I have friends that do. Large tires is a non starter taco won't fit 37s without major 5 figure work. Jeeps are pricey to mod but big tires are cheap to do compared to an ifs rig.
1999 GC sold just over 300k units. And stayed over 260 till the new ifs unit came in. 2005 sales were only 214k (this was peak economy) by 2008 it was under 80k. Last year it was still under 240k
Ifs didn't help sales. If they like money. Keep the solid axle.
I spent a week at jeep beach helping people on obstacle courses
The older stuff had to work fairly hard to run the same course as a newer rig.
But is it just too easy today?
We don't need to manage a clutch
We don't need to manage wheel spin (throttle control really isn't what it had to...
I just can't see it but if it does. That might be the end of the brand. Off road image sells those grand cherokee. If there is no off road focused halo vehicles the brand dies. Which sounds crazy till I think of all the brands lost in my lifetime.
@Rahkmalla I only hope it would be stand alone option as they just added for the ram 1500. On a low end trim. I wouldn't want the turbo 6 but I think if you could get a willy's with the straight 6 for 1695$ a lot would opt for it.
So over in ram land a 1500 can be optioned with the hurricane 6 at 420 hp for just 1695 up charge
Would a lot of gladiator buyers pay that premium for a turbo 6?
