As someone who has had multiple side steps nothing compares to OEM quality in terms of fitment and longevity. Every aftermarket side step i have had has rusted and/or had fitment issues. I see OEM side steps on fb marketplace all the time and reasonably priced. Just my two cents!!
I decided to go back to Clayton. I was going to go Apex, but they don’t make a rear track bar and when I upgrade the rear I like to stick with the same manufacturer for suspension components (I’m weird).
Thanks everyone for the replies!
Awesome! I have the roll n lock as well and one thing I loved about this rack is how it still utilizes the space up by the canister. If you have any pics of how it mounts up there I'd love to see them.
I am leaning that way. Their sales HQ is about 20 minutes from me (plymouth, MI). I’m wondering if they carry any products there for pickup. It’d be nice to check them out before purchasing.
Yea that seems to be the case with MC. Which is fine if I had the energy to do that, but after two days of wrenching…i am beat. Who knows, maybe I’ll hold off on returning the MC track bar and wait a month or two when I have the energy to get back under the truck lol
I had the Clayton kit on my last gladiator. I do remember it fitting without any issues, however I wanted to try something new this time around. I may still end up going with them to be safe. Thanks for the feedback!
Bingo. I beat on it for 30 minutes, to realize it was sitting as far down as it could go. So i reinstalled the OEM trackbar. I modified my last jeep heavily, Clayton lift, MC drag link/tie rod, the list goes on. I've spent countless hours having to modify aftermarket parts to fit and I told...
yea, apparently some MY’s have a larger bore allowing the track bar hole to line up on the axle end. Mine did not. I wasn’t aware of this issue or I wouldn’t have bought it. MetalCloak’s customer service is superb though, so I’ll be returning it.
Does anyone know of an adjustable front track bar that requires no modifications for fitment? I tried installing the Metalcloak front track bar, until realizing it didn't fit unless I took a dremel to the mounting location on the underside of the axle. Typically, I'd take on this project but I...
