Just reviving my old thread - Jeep did replace the steering box under warranty after waiting something like 5 months for it to come in. I've used it all this winter without any issues (so far anyway) but we haven't had a day yet as cold as when I originally posted so I can't really say if that...

The girl also said "I have the same Jeep and it does it sometimes on mine too" as if that somehow made it better. It was below 10 degrees here on the day it did it. We don't get too many of those days so hopefully it won't happen frequently.

So I just got off the phone with the service department and their answer was "It's a Jeep and they do that sort of thing."

Thank you - I did make an appointment with my local dealer for next week to have it checked out.

Anyone know if this is still a known issue? I've got a 21 that had this same situation happen this morning.
