I'm a little late to the party on this one, but have you looked into the mifold booster seats? I had a similar problem with a quad cab truck a few years back, and ended up getting that booster for my older kid. Might be something to consider for your 7 year old. It repositions the seatbelt down...

I'd say in normal times, sure. Right now - when most dealers are perfectly happy to let them sit there until someone is willing to pay sticker - less so.
