It's in their print magazine. This actually happens all the time if you pay attention - the magazines want to push it out into their latest issue otherwise they have to wait a whole month, so they time it to hit newsstands right when the embargoed info is lifted but sometimes it gets pushed out...
Interesting to see they went with the Ram 1500's suspension for the rear but didn't use the Ram's independent front suspension, instead keeping the JL's solid front axles. So definitely looks like they tried to blend the Wrangler with the Ram 1500 for the Gladiator's suspension. :like:
Yea the JT and JL will share the same engines and the JL engines have already been confirmed to feature ESS. The smartstartstop device is an easy way to override ESS but it does take up the OBD-II port. Some folks might want or need to have the port open for something else. I'm hoping the ESS...
I hope like you say it's more of a truck that looks like a Jeep instead of Jeep that looks like a truck. But how do you think they'd accomplish that since it's based on the Wrangler platform instead of Ram platform?
"Management" system sounds more like it would be a roof rail than it does side steps or rock guards. I'm thinking more Overland focused system for different parts/accessories.
Jeep is projecting 100k JT pickup sales a year. Not too crazy of a projection considering Toyota sold almost 200k Tacomas and over 100k Colorados were sold.
Mr. Sergio, I hope by perfect you meant no more leaky roof, death wobble, ancient 5 speed, or underpowered engine! Now if only they could fix crappy dealership service with the JL too lol.
I hope it is true and if it is kudos to FCA for not being lazy or cutting corners with the JT. It's the best way to ensure big pickup sales to justify it's own line in Toledo.
Sales cannibalization is always really overstated IMO. A Wrangler pickup has been in high demand for many years. Where there is a lot of demand and no supply the company is leaving money on the table. Like any model there will be cross shoppers from other models and brands, even within Jeep and...
I don't like Renegades either, but do like the concept of a Jeep Pickup. What's more utility than having a large flatbed. Though a long wheelbase guarantees it's staying off rocks.
