Mine made it 73k miles before the tick started happening. For this to be such a problem, literally for almost everyone. I'm surprised, there hasn't been a recall. I know it would probably bankrupt Jeep, but damn.
Unsuccessful. Took me half a day just to get to the valve cover, when I finally got it off. Two of the intake rockers were bad and had shaved the down the cam pretty horribly. We were moving to one state over in 3 days and I didn't feel comfortable removing the timing chain and replacing the...
I’m trying to replace the rockers and lifters. But to get to the valve cover bolts I had to remove the battery compartment.
Yeah I have both batteries completely out.
Are you talking about the actual exterior side panel? Don’t think I want to do that. Don’t even know if I could to be honest.
Can I safely remove the fuse box completely to help get some of the wires out of the way?
I’ve been trying all morning to get this compartment out with no luck. See attached. I have all the bolts out, both batteries are out. I just can’t seem to get it maneuvered out.
Here is the actual sticker from the jeep. I looked through the manual and couldn't find anywhere where it started VVT or VVL. Just on this sticker.
Kind of amazed myself no one else has said anything. Maybe I should ask on Reddit.
Edit: Now that I'm looking at that sticker. I'm a little...
I'm 85% sure its the VVT. Ill check it tonight.
Why is there such a huge price difference in the rockers. The price i had quoted out went from being around 50 bucks to $684.00!
I also found these on ebay.

Thoughts?
Im getting ready to replace the rockers and lifters. I'm getting the notorious ticking from the passenger side. I know I may have to change the cam's as well, but seeing how I am limited on funds at the moment, I'm going to start with the rockers. Are these good quality or should I be getting...
I noticed mine as well while washing the car, lol. I think its that the plastic bracket is just under too much pressure and it just ends up splitting where the screw holes are. I'm referring to the bracket on the inside of the tailgate.
Probably would have worked 10x's time better if it was...
Hey just wanted to give an update, incase someone else run's into the same problem. I used JB Weld for plastics on the cracked part and bought 3 6/32 gun screws. They were just a tad wider than the originals but went in ok and stayed in after some pulling on them. All in all, cost me 15 bucks...
Thank you so much for looking for that. If by housing you mean the outside exterior part, yeah that color does matter. Wouldn't want a blue or white camera housing on a solid black jeep, lol. For now I'm gonna try PuddleJumper's suggestion and see how it goes. It it fails or should say if I...
This was the first thing I read this morning. Unfortunate for my wife, but I died laughing.
Good idea about the JB Weld. I'll start gathering supplies this week for the good time of a weekend ahead of me.
Thanks!
Anyone know where I can get just the exterior mount and bracket for the rear view camera. Mine is shot. Only thing I can find is the bracket with the camera which I dont need and is a little over 200 bucks.
Also what is the size of the screw that goes into that mount? I was going to go ACE...
