  1. Meltdown (sorry it repeated)

Such an ignorant thing to say.
  2. Meltdown (sorry it repeated)

Or we just don't want people to spread incorrect info. What that dude was saying is just plain unsafe.
  3. Poor Confused Bronco

That CV boot doesn't look happy. I think that joint might be busted as well.
  4. Poor Confused Bronco

The ford looks like it had a tie rod fail. That can happen on a JL... but I'd assume it's a lot easier fix on a JL. The Red jeep looks like probably a ball joint or knuckle/shaft failure. These can happen on the IFS as well.
  5. Meltdown (sorry it repeated)

Gladiator? who the hell is talking about a jeep. Focus here! LOL /sarcasm (in case it wasn't apparent)
  6. Meltdown (sorry it repeated)

So which is it? What?? I feel like you know some terms, but don't have your cause and effect correct. Resistance is a fixed physical property of a system, it doesn't change. If you push more amps, you get more heat. Too much amps creates too much heat creates fire.
  7. Meltdown (sorry it repeated)

Now I'm no expert... but your first 3 sentences don't sit right with me. I believe heat is a function of resistance and current. Look at your standard wire selector, the two-axis are distance and current. All else equal, I can't see how short runs can create MORE heat than long runs. Maybe I'm...
  8. So jeep has this deal buy 3 get 1 for a dollar which 37

Yeah, I don’t believe that. How are you measuring? I feel like you must be doing (8/32)/(16/32) = 50%. I wouldn’t want to off-road with less that 6/32… so ([8-6]/32)/(16/32) =12.5%
  9. What the heck is this? Is this real? Aluminum Rubicon 3 piece bumper...

Just placed my order. Right now they're on sale for $640. I called and got an additional $27 off, but ymmv. Considering I should be able to sell my stock steel for at least the same price, plus also the winch plate, skid, and save 50 lbs... I consider this a huge win.
  10. Don’t buy my old JT!

I was offered $53k for my $47k new JLUR with 19k on it. I would have done it if I could have got a similar deal again… but I’d be pissing away the 8%below invoice I originally paid. The market is only good for a seller if you don't need to turn around and be a buyer right away.
  11. Is 50-70 lbs saved from bumper weight worth the extra 600 bucks??

I added the steel bumper, Zeon 12s, and an ARB twin under the hood and my front is about 3/4" lower than the rear. So, there's that to contend with. To me though, 60 lbs as absolutely worth $600, at least on a JL as my GVWR is such shit. I have the steel factory bumper now, but will be...
  12. I made a 4 tire inflation system and parts list.

Anyone know if a ARB twin can send more air than 4 1/4ā€ lines can supply at the PSI weā€˜re running? Edit: I looked this up and at ~30 PSI a 1/4 inch hose can do about 1.5 cfm. So, for 4 tires you’ll loose 4% of the twin compressors capacity going with 1/4 line. Considering how much smaller and...
  13. I know I’m going to catch grief for this question. Why go larger wheels and tires

That would be me. Ive done plenty of the red/difficult trails in Colorado and the only one I’ve ever turned back from wasn’t because I needed that extra 0.5ā€of extra ground clearance. To OP, the only reason to upgrade is you actually need the increase or you’ve got nothing better to spend your...
  14. Seriously Jeep, just a little overkill

You also couldn't drive with the tailgate down.
  15. Oh snap there might be a DPF Delete now :D

What an entitled little child. I’m frankly pretty surprised our economy finds someone with this kind of attitude valuable enough to reward the funds to be able to afford such an expensive vehicle.
  16. Interesting build at the dealership - Brush Firefighting Jeep Gladiator Promo Build

My god… if the JT was ever release with an old school extended cab, it’d be up there with the greatest overland platforms.
  17. Who else is happy with the Pentastar?

I think it has a lot to do with how you use your car. Sure, there are people that will run 40s or tow towards the limits of the vehicle. But how many people really need a 392? All else equal, I’d love a V8… but it comes at the expense of fuel economy (I can get 23 mpg driving from Boulder to...
  18. Who else is happy with the Pentastar?

I’m quite happy. More than enough power for what I need (and I’ve been all over the CO mountains). I hardly ever use more than half throttle.
  19. Interesting fleet of JT test mules in Colorado mountains 6-28-21 PIX ATTACHED

Ah, that's why I thought Dan Grec’s new JT looked odd from the rear. I noticed his JT has front tow hook covers... Maybe those are rear tow hook covers?
