The coolant used meets spec but it doesn't look factory.
I was pissed when I got the truck back, and let the insurance company know about.
I was also dealing with medical issues at the time and not up for the fight.
If I knew before hand what was being done I'd have argued with them.
This is...
I seem to remember it being purple when it was new and fresh.
It's diluted now, it was topped up with after market generic coolant by the body shop that repaired it after I hit a deer last Aug.
It's definitely not the green that the OP posted a pic of, that looks like the old green antifreeze...
I'd guess shock oil, coolant will be purple, refrigerant for the AC will evaporate.
There is a slight amount of oil in the refrigerant but I've never seen it running enough to drip like that.
What does it feel and smell like?
Hence idiot lights to tell those people there's a problem with the vehicle.
I usually keep the oil pressure gauge up.
There is an arc over the digits that act like the needles on analog gauges, I can glance down and read the oil pressure, bump the gauge button once to read the next one, look...
I thought I'd add a couple of things I learned while removing the bed rail caps to install the shims.
I had my shop temp in the mid 50's, the plastic was plenty pliable enough to remove the caps.
In fact, the plastic was more pliable than I expected. I thought it would be quit brittle and at...
Thanks for the tips, my Diamond back is coming next week.
The outlet store had an uncoated 270, the model I really wanted but was to cheap to pay full price on.
I think I need to install trail rails, I was on the fence about buying them so I won't mind if I have to.
My theory is if I'm in fear for my life I'm not going to be rolling the window down, it's one more barrier between me and the threat.
If I need to I'll put a round through the glass.
and I'm thankful for them, they provide the second hand market with a good supply of low milage used Jeeps, ready for the second owner to use like a Jeep.
That's how I got my JKR.
If a bolt is over torqued or stretched it loses strength. It may not be apparent until a load is put on it.
The sudden impact of getting rear ended on a hitch applies more force than a trailer will.
I'm a mechanical hypochondriac looking for points of failure so I can be prepared.
Everyone is...
I worry about damage to the hitch mounting hardware if the hitch takes the hit.
Will insurance cover replacing the hitch hardware?
Or will they wait and see if you lose your trailer, if the hardware fails?
