  1. Overheating - but maybe not?

If the temp gauge responds when you turn the heater on you have a problem, a bad sensor wouldn't respond to the heater running. I haven't had to add coolant or purge air on my Gladiator yet, when I had to purge my JK I got it hot, parked it on ramps so the fill point was higher than the rest of...
  2. Stock Rubicon with Weight Distribution Hitch, Got Lifted

If it's not to late, I'd measure the properly set up hitch height before the lift and tires are installed. Measure again after lift and tire install and lower the hitch the measured amount. This should get you close enough to safely pull the trailer to a shop to get it inspected, if you feel it...
  3. California Mojave Take-Offs

OP, I sent you a PM.
  4. Junkyard Upgrades?

I've always been a fan of junkyard upgrades vs. buying custom aftermarket assemblies. Somewhere on this forum I saw a thread about swapping Ford Super Duty axles under a JT. I believe aftermarket tone rings were used to get the ABS/traction control to work. I don't remember which sensors were...
  5. Toyo Open Country AT3 6 ply stock?

Tire Rack shows them in stock, I don't know if they're an option for you in Canada...
  6. On my way to pick up new ride

That is a proper drive home for a new Jeep.
  7. Just got my first Gladiator! Need help on mods new to jeeps

Congrats and welcome. How do you plan on using your new Jeep? That will determine mods like amount of lift and style of tires to run. I always chose protection first, mudflaps, floor mats and a bed mat. Many people with Rubicons or Mojaves upgrade their wheels and tires, buying their take...
  8. It seems it's not just Jeeps that have poor value vs. their loans.

Congrats Col. and thanks for explaining things to your friend. It's not hard yet so many smart people get in trouble with money. I've been following this thread and thinking about things. Every vehicle I've bought I put enough down that I'm not upside down on it. This gives me the option to...
  9. Re-torqueing control arms to specifications

I've never heard of checking control arm torque. I could see it after installing a lift, or if you have aftermarket arms or if you do a lot of max flex off roading. Do lift kit instructions tell you to do this? It's been a few years since I installed the lift on my JK.
  10. Bullseye'd a deer this morning...

How fast were you going? I hit one in eastern OR in Aug, I was doing 70. The right fender flare, grill, bumper, skid plate, radiator and coolers, fan, alt, p/s pump needed replaced. My truck was in the shop for two months. I'm testing it now to make sure it's fixed. I'll know in a few...
  11. Just got my first Jeep!

    Congrats and welcome.
  12. How to tell a standard alternator from a high output alternator?

My original alternator was a 220A made in Mexico, the shop installed a used 240A made in Japan. I'll consider that an upgrade.
  13. How to tell a standard alternator from a high output alternator?

Disregard, I found the part numbers on the Quadratec site: 180 A Mopar Part #: 56029597AB 220 A Mopar Part #: 56029765AA 240 A Mopar Part #: 56029803AA I got the old parts, the truck had the 220Amp alt. originally, now I need to find the part number on the used one they...
  14. How to tell a standard alternator from a high output alternator?

I picked my truck up today after it it was repaired after hitting a deer in Aug. I told the shop it had the heavy duty cooling package. They sourced and installed a used standard duty cooling fan. I need to check the alternator to see if it is the high output or standard output. How do I tell...
  15. What is your dream Gladiator add-on?

A DiamondBack bed cover. I was headed home from a trip in Aug., planning on ordering one, when I hit a deer. My JT's been in the shop since Aug. 23rd, I should get it back next week. I'd really like an auxiliary gas tank but I don't travel far enough, often enough, to need one. A DiamondBack...
  16. 2021 Willys to a 2024 Willys

Where are the pics? I'm giving some thought to looking at another new one later this year, if there are good end of year specials.
  17. Flatbed Towing Gladiator for Big Move

I tried to rent a U-haul trailer to get my Gladiator home after hitting a deer, they wouldn't rent it to me. I borrowed my neighbors 18 foot trailer, it was big enough but I'd have been more comfortable with a larger trailer. I had to run the front tires up against the rail on the front of the...
  18. First gen Tacoma bed cap fits on Gladiator

Thanks for sharing this info! I've also heard that a Chevy Colorado canopy will fit, sorry I don't remember which generation. I'd like to find a cheap second hand canopy for mine.
