I work with a guy that changes his oil at 3k period. Even tho he is getting the extended life type engine oil. He drives pre 2010 cars that were designed for the old style oil. He thinks anyone that doesn't do it that way is a fool. I just keep my mouth shut and l laugh internally.
Usually a tech would say we need to remove the after market stuff 1st then we can diagnose from there. Looking at the codes it probably not his new light system install but one never knows with electricity.
Respectfully. I was a service advisor. Every once in awhile some one smarter than me wouldn't change their oil. After 30k or 40k they would be towed in with engine problems. Guess what, sludge in the crankcase. Can't remember but probably ended up replacing the engine.
When my oil life reminder hits 20% I make an appointment. It usually is done before or when it hits 15%. Generally around 6k.
I did the 1st one at 900 miles. Get the crap out early. Hopefully this is going to be a 10 vehicle for me.
If they are on without spacers, what is their problem?
I put on LT295 70 18 on the stock wheels with spacers and my selling dealer said $250 to program the odometer. I bought an ECRI programmer for $130 and did it myself.
Not a fan of my selling dealership.
LOL, 1st oil change on my Honda Pilot i asked for tire rotation with the oil change. Came out and said the same thing. I figured eff it. 30k on the car when I got rid of it for the Gladiator and all they got from me was oil change money. And the tires were all ok! Used it for Uber. Glad I don't...
I haven’t verified the setting but it seems right. Fuel mileage checks out when doing it by hand when compared with the dash. I figure after I put 10k on the tires I will reset it using the GPS function. So far I am happy with it.
I ordered 1st week of November 2021 and it was built at the end of the month. Shipping took another 7 weeks due to driver shortage. And dealers can charge all the premiums they want. Just walk away from them.
Additional Dealer Mark Ups. I just walk. My dealer didn't have that. That said, they did make me checkoff the box that said the dealer gets any factory incentives. Won't do that the next time. Almost an ADMU. Next time I will walk.
Anyone have any experience making a claim with Geico?
From the repair end being body or service I can tell you they were aweful. Boned us on the labor and parts every time. Worse than all the other insurances.
I was a GM service advisor until a couple of years ago. We sold and took Fidelity by JMA Group and it was an excellent warranty plan.
And yes, I do agree with you. Some of those a/m warrantys were just awefull, especially the ones purchased thru the internet.
You all could ask about Fidelity...
There are a bunch of them in the mid cape area. I drive all around the cape most of the day delivering auto parts and am seeing Jeeps of all kind and many Glads.
