I have the Jeep Alpine system. I was finally able to buy the upgraded front speakers from Terra Acoustics. I have been on the waiting list since Jan. . They make the new front speakers for both the Alpine system and the non-Alipine. I will let you guys know how they work out...
Sounds like a normal Jeep drive train to me.
Note: I use Chevron 89 octane in my Gladiator exclusively for the last 44K miles. I have never heard a rattle or ping - no matter how big the load.
We are doing the Rubicon Trail on Father's day weekend.... so, I also just got tires from Discount/America's tire again. My Goodyear Kevlars are torn up, and there is not much available in 37".... I went with the Yokahama Geolandar G003 in 37s. So far, they ride great and are quiet...
I just got the new GMRS Midland MXT575 from CoolTechLLC. Here it is next to my old MXT275. It is a much bigger base unit to support the full 50 watts. There is a great spot for it underneath the steering wheel - as long as you mount it way forward to avoid any rubbing on the steering...
My real world experience is -- a Gladiator Rubicon with 37's, a good lift, and gears, will out crawl over big rocks and boulders any other IFS truck or electric....
Note: The electric cars like Rivian, with an independent motor on each wheel, do not look like they can actually lock axles and...
I went to Bluetti and LiFePO4 technology over Lithium Ion for my Gladiator refrigerator (under my Tonneau cover) because of the better performance of LiFePO4 in high heat, safety, and more recharge cycles.
yes, what he said... I have many cars for a long long time and I was replacing batteries every year.... With the battery tender, a battery will last over 7 years - even if you drive it once a year. They are unbelievable in extending the lives of batteries.... I think I have one battery...
Good point.... I stand corrected... The hardest obstacles, ie "10" rated, are tough with 35s and only a 1" lift.... For "Rock Gardens" like "John Bull Trail" and "Holcomb Creek Trail"; 37's - 3.5" lift and armor make it much more enjoyable. 35's, 1 inch lift can make it, but, armor is...
I also bought both... but, I live in Southern California. The hard top has been off for two years now. We only use the soft top. My gladiator is not garaged... If I did it over again, I would still buy both... I may use the hard top later ... The soft top is great fun where I live !!
No, for my wheeling, the Rubicon is the one. I use the front lockers, and the auto disconnect sway bar is key for good articulation. Also, these trucks are so long that they have to be lifted to get good clearance on Jeep badge of honor trails.... so, the Mojave suspension would be swapped...
I put my Engel in the bed with a lifepo4 bluetti battery. The Engel fits under my hard folding tonneau cover. I need my fridge removable, since we use the bed once in a while. It has been like that almost a year now, and tons of trails with no problem. The 115V plug in the bed charges the...
I setup mine to use the AC plug in the back of the bed (factory option). I put an octopus on the plug and use two cords - one going to the Bluetti battery AC charger, the other going directly to my Engel Refrigerator. When the truck is running it is charging the Bluetti battery (200 watts)...
I just changed both of my batteries at 42K miles. I bought an Odyssey 94 group for the big one - around $350, and I had to buy the accessory battery from the dealer - $150. I could not find an aftermarket one in stock. Replacing it yourself is not that hard. There are videos on you tube...
Just armor it up and your good to go. It's cheap and easy to armor it up. It is one of the first things I did - before my lift kit, before my new tires.... Hard Rock, Rusty's, Metalcloak, rear control arm skids (front and back - rear control arm skid at the frame is critical) rear shock...
I would not worry too much about it. I use my rear locker the most..., and it should be better than LSD. I mostly use the front locker when going straight up a rock water fall or straight steep hill in granny gear. It is super hard to turn in the rocks with the front locker on, especially...
yeah, I saw in the latest lite brite video that one 4XE guy had an issue modulating the power to the wheels when he want to crawl and inch forward, pressing for traction... He kept getting too much torque and spinning the tires at the wrong time.
I have a manual Rubicon with 37s and 5:13s. After using them for 1.5 years, Personally, I am really glad I went with 5:13s. Some additional reasons for 5:13s and 37s besides fwy speed, rpm, mileage:
1. Best Acceleration you can get from 0 to 60. It's nice to go suprisingly fast on an on...
Personally, with 3.73s, I would not go higher than 33" tires, and look for light weight ones..... I know that is not what you want to hear, but..... that is the way I see it..... especially if you live in the mountains. Flat landers can have more flexibilty, but, I live in the mountains.
