  1. Ordering Wrangler vs Gladiator?

Just figure it this way... They are exactly the same except for the wheel base, departure angle, high center clearance, and bed..... "In General", off-road, a wrangler will "out wheel" a similar equiped Gladiator. "In General", because of the above, "on-road", the Gladiator will give you...
  2. Sand, water, and truck bed

Yes, I have the spray in bed liner from the factory and it sticks great. However, note: My bed is setup with tools and molle panels. So, I do not spray it with water. I only clean it with compressed air.
  3. Sand, water, and truck bed

Yes, kind of.... There is front lip that is stuck in place on the bed with good 3M stuff... Then, it folds over and covers the gap. it is kind of a "semi-circle shape.. When you open the tailgate, the rubber slides down the tailgate..., when you close the tailgate, it slides up, so, it...
  4. Anyone replaced their front brake pads yet?

Yes, I have replaced the front with Mopar pads. I did it a while ago, but, I do not remember them being that expensive. My rotors looked good, so, I sandpapered both sides for a while, then, just replaced the pads. I think that was about 5K miles ago, and the rotors and pads are performing...
  5. Help! Check engine light - Multiple DTC’s

Sounds like low voltage to me still.... These Jeeps will act really weird with low voltage. I am almost at 3 years of ownership and 42K miles and I just had to change both batteries. If your ESS does not work, then, your aux battery is bad (aux14)
  6. Sand, water, and truck bed

I have a similar problem with dust here in the west. About 1.5 years ago I installed the "Gapshield", tailgate gap cover. It reduced the dust in my bed by 95%. It works good, just make sure you do not fold it into the tailgate when you close it and crease the rubber. I really like it...
  7. Oil in the Air Intake Hose on the 3.6?

Don't worry. It is normal, and part of the pcv system.
  8. Which wheel brand would you choose?

Personally, I have found, with 37s, 17x8.5, 0/4.75" wheels are minimum offset required to avoid the front tires rubbing against the control arms at low PSI (ie. 10 to 13 psi) while 4Wheeling. Actually, even with these wheels, you will still get some slight rubbing (depending on tires and...
  9. Unbiased opinions.

For me, watching all the Bronco videos online, and then, coming back to the point one year ago that the Bronco can challenge the Wrangler for 4WD supremacy ---- is kind of a joke now.... The Bronco has a long way to go to get the chops of a Wrangler.
  10. Tazer killed auto start stop

Note: My ESS stopped working a long time ago, especially with the air conditioning on. Recently the Aux switches would not work when getting into the truck in the morning. I had to drive the truck for a while to get the switches working again and get the aux battery charged. Not quite 3...
  11. Bad Fox Shock

It sounds like you are hitting your bump stops on that wheel. So, it makes sense that the shock is bad. You can check the shock by trying to compress it with your arms. It should be pretty hard to compress.
  12. Which wheel brand would you choose?

If you 4wheel a lot, you really should consider the Method Bead Grip. I have been very impressed with them at low PSI. Here is a pic of "bead grips" and I can tell you that the tire first mounts on the first bead and then finally pops to the outer bead after almost full PSI. After that, the...
  13. Does anyone know how to get the stench of rotten whalemeat out of a Gladiator?

If actual whale oil got on the Gladiator and inside it, then, you have to wipe it all down with something that dissolves oil, like Dawn or something.
  14. Thoughts on my Audio Upgrade Plans

I guess they figure people like the flexibility of using multiple USB sticks - which actually works very well... --- Unfortunately, most USB sticks are low quality and they just stop working or get flaky after 6 months or so from all the heat cycling. I just make sure I have multiple USB stick...
  15. Vibration from 20-25 mph on 37s, common issue?

How many miles do you have on the truck ? How many off-road miles ? If a decent amount, check your ball joints and tie rod and make sure they are not worn.
  16. Owner of Jeep left at dealer for oil change is sued after tragic accident

Unfortunately, it is a generic law. You own the car, you are libel if any one drives it... Unfortunately again, they rely on the courts and lawyers to work out the "fairness" aspect. there are some weird cases - like, car is stolen, keys are left in the car and stolen, car is left running...
  17. Preliminary 5.13 Gears Review

I just love the acceleration with the 5:13s. Enjoy your new gears !
  18. Does the Service ESC light come on when the tire pressure is too low?

ESC is electronic stability control. It is a mechanism that keeps the tires from spinning. Since you were on sand, it may have something to do with it. Note: you do want to "spin" in the sand, so, I aways turn off ESC, otherwise, while you are climbing in the sand, the Gladiator will not...
  19. Teraflex HD JT/JT Ball Joints

Great ! Thanks ! I am thinking I should also upgrade to the heavy duty steering knuckles at the same time. What is your recommendation ? I am running a 3.5 inch Clayton lift and 37s.
  20. Teraflex HD JT/JT Ball Joints

Thanks, I just ordered a set, but, it says "backordered" quantity of 1. I paid and ordered anyway. Hopefully, I will get them.
