Greg, It calls for 6-10 backlash with the Yukon gears. I'm at 6. You are correct, I did not put any drag on the carrier.

Can you provide me some input? I ended up regearing Gladiator. What do you think about this gear pattern?

Thanks for your input. I'll be changing the pinion bearings and crush sleeve this weekend. Hopefully the pattern looks better when I'm done.

First time post. Long time lurker... I paid a local shop to regear my Gladiator and I've put 5000K miles on it since then. I over tighten the pinion while installing an Adams 1350 rear shaft and chromoly axles. Decided to check the gear pattern (attached photos). Based on the gear pattern...
