These are great. Can aways count on this site for awesome preview renders and info.
The JT is going to take the segment by storm. Can't wait to see them on the roads taking a healthy bite out of Toyota and Chevy's midsize truck sales :punch:
Agreed, I didn't notice it at first but this angle makes it very obvious and strange looking. The front track looks like it's 6 inches wider than the rear in this photo.
True but the exaggerated loading methods still show how much stronger steel is versus aluminum as the bed material. And according to this article, Ford says just 17 percent of F-150s are sold with a spray-in bed liner from the factory. So I bet there's owners out there who are surprised that...
Might be tough though? JKU's towing capacity is 3500 lbs. JKU Sahara weighs about 4400 lbs. So towing capacity has to go up by almost 1000 lbs.
Hope they do it though... I'm just imagining a JT in front and JK in back. :involve:
I don't think the JT pickup tires will sit flush or inward of the fenders. I think they'll stick out for an aggressive look. Look at this Gladiator concept, the tires on it stuck out plenty.
In case you guys haven't seen, the Wrangler ranks 4th in resale value in this KBB Best Resale Value Awards list. I've actually seen even higher values than that in my area for used JK's. I'm confident I can get higher than those listed resale % if I decide to sell the JKU and pick up a JL...
Agreed not being able to get the Tread Lightly discount means you'd have to deal with any markups and I bet the JT diesel gets delayed even more and when it comes out they'll be all that pent up demand and low production. I would consider the 4 cyl too depending on the specs.
Same here, that's how I got mine below invoice. I would not be surprised if they excluded the JT from this plan since it is a totally new vehicle and demand is sure to be higher than supply, at least initially. Whether dealers will have some before you can receive an ordered one will depend on...
If production of JT pickup truck starts in the Fall and retooling starts 3/31/18 (as stated in the other sticky thread) that means retooling the line for the JT will take at least 6 months, maybe longer.
It's based on the fact that steel dust can contaminate any aluminum parts causing it to corrode and any paint applied on top of the contaminated parts to erode the paint. This means they have to build a clean room attached to the paint shop to thoroughly clean the aluminum parts prior to...
Thanks for the info. I read some speculation that the plant might not need more than a few weeks for retooling because they were building a facility outside the current plant for building aluminum body parts. Also that the current and new bodies would have the same BOF attachment points...
Looking forward to the new 8 speed. From what I've experienced the ZF 8 speed is about the best auto available. But it's not exactly a new transmission so why haven't we seen it in the latest JK models?
Man I was hoping to see it revealed sooner than later but at least production date isn't being pushed. Wonder if they'll do any official teasing of any kind leading up to the reveal. It's been quiet on the spied prototype front.
