Unsure if you're still around to answer this but I'm about to do this and I'm curious how you handled all the extra wiring that comes with that hardwire kit. Looks like you can't remove the "box" in the middle as it's dropping the voltage from 12 to 5 and I'd prefer not to be cutting up the end...
