It's got nothing to do with money. The MOPAR soft cover overlaps the side of the truck bed. We do make an option for that cover, but to make our VRS or CXR racks compatible wouldn't be practical.
We don't want to design something outlandish for one specific tonneau cover.

The problem is that the cover is super wide, there is really no magic solution. The easier option would be for the consumer to get a different cover that is easier to fit with a rack.

If you switched to the brackets for integrated tracks later on, your main crossbars would need to be shorter, so it's better to start with that right off the bat.
