Added bed rails. Shout out to mike921921 for mentioning Mcmaster-Carr for the strut material. I ordered powder coated struts so I didn't need to paint. They were delivered the next day.
I just cut the side rails to length and drilled the holes. Total cost was about $145 including stainless...
I test drove an Overland because I was replacing a leased Honda Ridgeline. I ended up buying a Rubicon because I decided to buy instead of lease. I plan to keep this vehicle long term so I thought resale would be better if I do decide to sell at some point. We are also in the Mojave desert so...
I have the single ARB behind the seat. I just cut a pine board the shape of the plastic mat and screwed the compressor to that. The whole assembly just drops into the opening. I've used it since last fall with no issues. The air chuck is mounted to the compressor so I need to fold the seat...
I have my ARB single back there attached to a piece of wood. Its wired to an Aux switch but I also connected with a plug so I can remove it. I have a matching plug with battery clips so I can use it outside of the Jeep.
You can go back to a 70's vehicle before electronic ignition and you won't have to worry about computer/ecm/ecu/etc. failure. But your battery could go dead while you are in the middle of nowhere and you're still stranded.
I installed the WeatherTech bed & tailgate mat. The mats fit well. IMHO they will probably be fine for normal use. The mat prevent things from sliding around in the bed and is thick enough to protect the bed. I don't have an issue with it not extending up the sides of the bed like the spray on...
I just returned a 2018 Ridgeline at end of lease and decided to get a Gladiator. The Honda was a no problem vehicle, just boring. The only thing I miss is the extra lockable storage under the bed. The Gladiator wins by a really big (s)mile' on the fun factor.
